Is that enough of a return for Butler?Or is miami just desperate?? I'm thinking picks would have to be involved
But how much involved.. But how much and from who??
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Boston receives:
Toumani Camara
Portland receives:
Jaden Springer
2025 first-round pick
2030 second-round pick
I love it but have no idea why Portland would do this trade.
Oof that’s a metric ton of draft capital for a 24 year old 11/7/3 per 36, .547TS% guy.
I’d rather keep Springer if that’s what it costs to upgrade.
I would definitely do that trade. But not necessarily from a basketball standpoint. If you guys can recall.I already stated.I know Toumani quite well. If he were to get traded to Boston, i would end up getting free tickets.. Maybe get invited to practice.. And before you know it , I'd be trying to straighten out Joe and directly speaking with Brad Stevens..![]()
Ok I'd be for it if it came with insider tidbits, but just seems like it'd be paying 2x to get a guy that is what we thought we had with Grant Williams. Free tickets for board members with 10+ years of disservice aside, I'd hope they could just develop Springer and draft a not-cratering, not annoying Grant with the pick.

Camara's next 2 years after this year are at $2.2 and 2.4 million team options both years. Like I said, I wouldn't worry about it because I highly doubt Portland would move Camara. Portland loves Camara.

That trade wouldn't really make Golden State younger. They'd become The Golden Girls but in shorts.

Sure, I am not sure they would move him either. I just think they love him like we loved Grant Williams.
Say eg what's he better at then Spurs' Champagnie? Not sure either guy is on the market (and don't think either is worth a first+second) but unless he's somehow a way better defender they seem pretty comparable, and Champs is 23.
I just think it's easy to get over exuberant about some of these older prospects imo. Camara's nice and would be a solid fit here but like I said before a guy that is a career 11/7/3 guy per 36 with below avg efficiency is only having so high a ceiling.

I don't think that we Trade anyone.
Springer has quickly proven to be a Defensive Guru.
Tillman, seems to still be recovering from off-season surgery.
I'm not sure what scenario would arise, that would cause Brad Stevens to pull the trigger, so to speak?
I'm in the Stand Pat group.

The odds are heavily favored to the Celtics doing nothing. I still think they end up doing a small move. We all will see soon.

The only thing that I can see us doing, on the NBA level, is filling the 15th Spot.
After that, we may make some changes to the Two-Way spots; and/or give a few of our Maine Celtics 10-Day Call-ups.
I'd advocate Elevating Peterson to a NBA-Contract, and filling his Two-Way spot, with Hason Ward.
Not sure that we we keep Davison, either. He seems to be a AAAA Player. Let's move on. Give someone else a chance.
Celtics Roster, 2024-25:
Starters: Holiday - White - Brown - Tatum - Porzingis
Rotation: Pritchard - Hauser - Horford
Situational: - Queta/Kornet
Reserves: Springer - Scheierman - Walsh - Tillman
Two-Ways: Davison - Peterson - Watson
Affiliates: Enaruna, Harper, Ward
Returning: Scrubb, Schakel, Skapintsev
Potential 15th Spot?
Lonnie Walker
Drew Peterson

I'd try and use Springer to get Boucher form Toronto, we need another mobile big that can shot 3's.
It works on the trade checker, trade vet for youth, we may need more sweetener to get it done.

IDK. We've got Anton Watson on a Two-Way. 6'8"; 24 yrs old; currently shooting 30% from 3.

Wouldn't shock me if Walsh or Scheierman is packing their bags soon..
Brad is usually pretty stealth and does moves that people weren't expecting..

I think if they do anything it’s a big move, trading Jrue or White. Or it’s a Jaden Springer move. I can’t see Walsh, Baylor etc being traded. Trading away White or Holiday or just that small Springer maneuver, those are the deals I wouldn’t be shocked by.

Actually wondering if Tillman isn’t a bigger candidate than Springer right now. Obviously the money is a bigger difference but X has another year and he just hasn’t landed anything yet.
Not writing either guy off as I think they both could work here but just curious who’s closer to the line and part of me thinks it might be X.

Trade deadline 2024: a couple minor deals, moving Banton for a pick. Moving Stevens for Tillman, moving a pick for Springer
Trade deadline 2023: minor deal, moving justin jackson for Mike Muscala
Very minor moves during the past 2 trade deadlines. I wouldn't expect anything major like a white or Jrue trade..especially since there's no reason for a major shakeup - coming off the NBA championship.

Claim: The Heat really, really, really need to make the playoffs this season, because of trade pick protection details. Predictions about any Butler trade should take that into account.

Michael Scotto reporting Boston is one of a few teams showing interest in acquiring Yabusele.
I like it.
a) We just made a deal last year at the deadline with Philly, so maybe do another one now
b) Yabusele is about as good a player as we could realistically acquire, on such a cheap contract
c) obviously, The Celtics have familiarity with Yabusele and he has familiarity with the org, our players/coaches from his first stint in Boston a few yrs ago. Brad has brought back Al to Boston, he brought back Theis..and he also brought bak Kornet after Kornet was gone for a short while so it shouldnt be a surprise if Brad brings Yabusele back as well
Plus, since he's on an expiring contract, we wouldn't need to trade as much to get him. Tillman was expiring last year, somewhat similar in terms of how good he was last year compared to how good Yabusele is now. Tillman was a few years younger too and all it took to get him was 2 2nd rounders + Lamar Stevens. Maybe this time around it's just 1 2nd rounder headed to Philly? Perhaps we include either Queta, Walsh, Schierman or Tillman in the deal?
I'm sure Philly isn't gonna want Springer back after they just traded him last year..
A big like Yabusele who can play the 4 and maybe some small ball 5, can shoot the ball, bring some strength and toughness..still just 29 years old so not like he's too old and is declining. That would be a nice piece to add to bolster the bench.
Think he would be at the top of my somewhat realistic trade target list..
