This is a good idea. Spurs get an upgrade from a non-useful player to a slightly useful player for free basically, so they are a yes. Suns get either a rotation big or wing from the 3rd team, yes from them. The undetermined 3rd team takes in some bad salary and get draft compensation in the form of 1-3 first round picks depending who the Suns get in return.

I really like it for San Antonio and they have virtually no risk or downside. The worst case scenario is that Nurk ends up warming the bench like Collins already does. However the upside is Nurk could fit in well in Their system, especially with Fox (hypothetically) and/or CP3 there. Nurk didn’t have the agility to be Phoenix starter and anchor their defense, however he does have the tools to be San Antonio’s back up big for 15-20 min a night.

If I’m the Suns the debate is if I want to offer Miami 2 first rounders and Beal for Jimmy and offer 1st rounder with Nurk in a separate trade to bring in two pieces? Or does it make more sense to keep Beal as your 6th man and instead attach all three picks to Nurk and try to get one big upgrade that way? An example being Nurk and three first rounders for Deni Avdija. I don’t think Portland would actually do that at all, but just for an example on the caliber/age of player Phoenix might target.
