Re: WNBA Offseason Thread
Sloot back to the Sky as speculated.
This is pretty much perfect, imo. Sky are going to likely have 4 very young players in the rotation this season. Sloot may not be a starter for a title contender any more, but she's perfect to be a veteran competent PG to help some kids develop.

Last I heard Satou wants to come to NY but Dallas would want BLH and Fiebich in return. Absolutely not.

No discussion about Kelsey Mitchell returning to Indiana? That's pretty huge.
I'm glad she and CC will be together for another year.

It is fantastic. I think most just assumed she'd return.
Although I thought the same about AT, Plum, BG, Bri.....

Bri is a great player, but I don't get it.
And I think Smesko has generally been a small-ball, Jack up 3's kind of guy. But we'll see. Atlanta certainly has a lot of talent. A healthy Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray can give them a shot on most any night.
The Aces keep striking out in their search for front court depth. It's almost starting to make me think a GM might be important.

Re: WNBA Offseason Thread
The Sun really just completely imploded lol
Only 4 players under contract this year, Marina Mabrey, Natasha Cloud, Rebecca Allen, and Olivia Nelson-Ododa, none signed for longer than this season
I thought they'd hold out for one more year with the old core, but I guess not
Gonna be a rough few years, and the Sky have swap rights on our pick next year too, but year after that is potentially the JuJu draft. Man can dream, after all.

Natasha Howard to the Fever.
See she’s got a solid ppg, but efficiency seems to be sliding with age and 3p%s make it seem she was never much of a shooter.
Still, get the feeling she’s an upgrade. Please tell me more ladies and gents.
How’s the fit, how much left in the tank?

Natasha Howard is still a good player and slides in perfectly next to AB up front. Now the Fever have two half court options when their running game gets halted.
So I'm assuming:
Boston
Howard
Hull
Mitchell
Clark
That team will be one of the best offensive clubs in the league, easily top 3. Now, I like Lexie but if Indiana can grab another wing that can shoot and defend, that would be huge. I don't think they'll be stopping anyone defensively but they will be strong.
Now that Indy has addressed PF I'm nervous that NY will trade for Satou.

Re: WNBA Offseason Thread
Yeah, Howard seems like a nice add.
And MDB, I think this is good news for Fiebich/BLH.
It sounds like Satou didn't want to go to Indiana, but it still removes one potential bidder.
It seems like it's between NY and PHX now, and PHX really has nothing left to give.
I'm also starting to wonder if Dallas is so underwhelmed with the potential trade offers that they might rather risk pulling a Washington/EDD scenario.
If the offers aren't there, it seems like a solid risk. EDD was an older player, but Satou is a young player coming off an injury-riddled season. Maybe she'd sit out a season, but I could understand trying to see if you can convince to try out a year with Paige and Arike (if Paige ends up there).
If NY plays hardball (and why wouldn't they?), GS and WAS are the only teams with space and assets to trade. And we have no reporting that GS and WAS are prepared to make great offers for her.
If I'm Curt, I want #7 and Fiebich or BLH. NY for sure says no. I tell Satou we just couldn't get a deal done. Play this year if you like. If not, we'll save $250K and get a better chance to land Lauren Betts.

Howard doesn't seem like a perfect fit for Indiana but as a 1-year stop gap, it seems solid.
She'll be significantly better than Nalyssa Smith who was awful.
