Re: Should the Warriors make a trade?
Would have to deal the three expirings plus Hield and SloMo and take back a bunch of minimum deals from Chicago and maybe a third team like Detroit.
As Onus pointed out, would leave them drawing dead at the center spot but it’s a better team

Re: Should the Warriors make a trade?
Lavine is playing really well this year, so Bulls are definitely going to want Kuminga or picks and not just a bunch of expiring contracts.
Closest I can come up with that leaves us money to fill out the roster, that maybe both teams are happy with:
Dubs get: Lavine and Phillips (yes I'm going to try and get my guy Phillips if we are dealing with Chicago
)
Bulls get: Kuminga, Dennis, Looney, GP2, Buddy
So what does that leave us with.... a huge PG problem where we are reverting back to the issue we had with Podz until the Dennis trade. As well as going with Trayce again without Loon... But lets see:
Steph / Podz / Spencer
Lavine / Phillips / Waters
Wiggins / Moody / Rowe
Dray / Kyle / Santos
Trayce / Post
(trayce/post eating center minutes but winning time would be a really intriguing small ball unit with Podz or Moody or Kyle or Phillips replacing Trayce)
main concerns for me would be:
- Podz has to figure out the backup PG role, or maybe play with Spencer during those non-steph minutes
- Moody sink or swim time because he would need to be a consistent scorer off the bench. He's done it per36, but now it would needed every game.
I dunno, thats alot of vet role players and Kuminga for a guy that was one of the worst contracts in the league recently... but if he plays like he has been this year it would be a huge improvement. Big IF though.
EDIT - other option is swap Kyle for Kuminga in the trade and instead send off a couple 1st rounders (which could be fun if Lacob is willing to go into crazy 2nd apron to pay Kuminga next year while keeping Steph, Lavine, Wiggins, Dray)

We need everyone to somehow forget Vuc exists and stop adding him to these scenarios. He's awful at basketball.

It's also impossible from a money standpoint without sending Wiggins or Dray plus every expiring we have... leaving us with the worst defensive team in the league.

the first thing this FO did when they bought this team was greenlight $80M for David Lee
Vuc is exactly who I expect to get lol

I just don't see how we can fill out the rest of the roster money wise. Can we fill 3 roster spots with 1 M left?
They could almost do it. With the names listed above, the Warriors would have $926,107 to work with. If they sign two rookies at the deadline and one 14 days later (you can have 13 rostered for 14 days) it would cost 1,223,600. If you include Waters it would be comfortable. There would be a lot of dead weight on the bench, though.

If we're going by the rumors JK isn't on the table. What do the bulls get out of it, some cap space and easier contracts to move other than Lavine. Remember they tried to give us Lavine + a 1st just to get off his contract in the summer.

Thanks!
Yea we'd be a lot shallower but it cleans up the rotations and we're still going at least 9 deep? With Phillips being playable as well as a gp type player.
Curry/Podz
Lavine
Wiggins/Gui
Dray/JK
Looney/Post/TJD
Plowden would be great for that 2 spot, Jackson Rowe, Spencer and Phillips closing out the rotation.
I can get behind that roster for the rest of the year.

Gotta think things have changed the way Lavine has played. But, hey if we can swap Kuminga for Kyle and maybe the 1st rounder just switches direction.
Dubs get: Lavine and Phillips
Bulls get: Dennis, Looney, GP2, Buddy, Kyle, 1st (maybe 2)
We get an elite closing lineup of Steph, Lavine, Wiggins, Kuminga, Dray

thats crazy, they need to attach FPRs to get rid of Lavine's contract. The only reason we dont want him is his crazy contract. I dont think we will consider anything if they dont give up 1 or 2 FPRs
bulls are not stupid they been shipping lavine around for years and nobody wanted him without FPRs going out

Last year when he was injured they were willing to add a pick...there is no talk of that this season.
The Bulls may not move him regardless.

he plays 50% of the games and has a career BPM of 0.7 and getting older...i dont see us getting him , especially if we dont want to give up wiggins or dray

Does Sacramento want to blow up their roster? If so, we should look into trading for DeRozan. But whoever it may be, I would hate to involve Wiggins in the trade. And I'm not sure if Butler is the missing piece that we need to be a serious contender. Hope we don't make mistakes that we may regret.

I might put wiggins up for auction right now instead of getting Jimmy.
Mavs, thunder, bucks, knicks, cavs, and lakers have a giant sized hole for a 2 way wing. Teams are going all in. And he is easily the best wing available on the market.

Re: Should the Warriors make a trade?
I live in the Bay Area and love the Warriors, but I'm a lifer for the Bulls, as I grew up in Chicago. Lavine would be amazing on the Warriors. He's averaging 51 FG%, 44% on 3s, and 80% at the line. He had 8 30-point plus games in January. He's working hard on defense and is decent, not terrible. The Bulls went from one of the slowest pace teams last year to one of the fastest this year and he adjusted beautifully and is a true team player. He's a super talent, but not a leader. DeRosen last year was a leader, but his one on one game was the demise of the team in the modern NBA. I would take Lavine over Wiggins any day of the week. Lavine is at his best ever right now.
