Re: Is Khris cooked?
I guess another question is "Is Jrue cooked?" He's not having a great season either. Who would you sooner have at this point? Should we have traded Khris rather than Jrue for Dame?

That's not really my point at all though and I couldnt care less if he is trying to relate it to Packers, it's just poor form and a bit spoiled
Wanting to win another championship while having a generational talent is spoiled? Come on now. Of course everyone appreciates the championship we won. And if that's the only one we get with Giannis so be it. I still want to win another one don't you? Or do you not care anymore and just watch highlights from 4 years ago. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You're talking to the wrong guy man, he was using Khris as a scapegoat for only winning one so far. I was saying winning one is awesome, be grateful to Khris. Said nothing about the future and I'm probably one of the most optimistic people on here about our title chances going forward. I will call you spoiled as soon as anyone starts complaining about only winning so far and starting to point fingers, yes. Giannis has been injured many playoff runs and even was when we won.
Horst and Hammond would be the scapegoats, not Khris. Khris has had an amazing career, said I was grateful in my first post, calm down. And yes, I’ll be slightly disappointed if a generational talent on my favorite team in any sport is only able to win one championship. Guess I should just watch the playoffs every year and be happy that the players tried hard and the GM did his best.

Re: Is Khris cooked?
There's thousands of moves the Bucks could have made to be better right now that have nothing to do with Middleton, and we still haven't had a playoffs where we'd be better off having moved him.

You say the less sentence in jest, but that is what sports are. You hope players try their best and the GM does a good job, then you watch the playoff. Luckily in 2021 the players tried their best and the GM did a good job.
" I just think when we look back at Giannis's career, trying to figure out how we only got 1 championship with a top 10 player of all time (and at this point, looking like one finals appearance), my prime suspect is going to be Khris Middleton"
Your words right there, I'm not making stuff up. You're talking like Giannis is retiring tomorrow as well. Im bringing the thread off its tracks atp though so I wish you a wonderful weekend

Re: Is Khris cooked?
I'm glad this poll was done, because it confirms what should be obvious to everyone.
With a few exceptions, whether you want to trade Khris or not is solely based on your medical analysis of him.
Those who want to trade him base their opinion on:
1) He hasn't played in the regular season last year and much of this year
2) HIs last 2 out of 3 games were bad.
Those who want to keep him base their opinion on:
1) After being injured all last regular season, he was really good in the short playoff run.
2) He's played well, except for a few clunkers, since he returned.
Given the alternatives I'm in the second camp.
Jimmy Butler is the only difference maker I've read about and he is also always injured and I don't want to take the risk he sits out the playoffs because he can't get an extension.

My current opinion on Khris is actually about the same as it was since 2023, he's cooked in terms of ever being anything close to his old all-star self.
But I think he can still be a contributor in a 6th man type of role.
It was a brave stance than and its a brave stance now
Nah, it's never brave when you're wrong.

Re: Is Khris cooked?
Khris just needs more time. He’s still got it, he just takes time to work himself into proper game shape. We’ve always known this about him.
I can tolerate trading him for Jimmy but that’s it. I’d rather we back him and give him time to get into proper shape. By game 40 he’ll be cooking again (and prob be ripe for another injury).
In Khris’s favour: he’s still scoring efficiently, his net rating is solid and although his man to man D will need some time, he’s not **** up the defence when out there.
He’s a slow healer, the anti-Giannis, which hurts but once he’s rolling he’ll be really vital to the team.

Re: Is Khris cooked?
Khris is notorious for taking time to get ‘in to shape’. I could see this thread being spot on or look cringy come playoff time. The fact I have no idea which is reason enough for me to consider moving him now to get a young SF but I won’t be shocked if Midds is making us look silly this time next year.

Can't afford to pay a 6th man 30 million a year. He is 33 and his body will never be 100% healthy.

Re: Is Khris cooked?
I think we all have slightly different definitions of what it means to be "cooked." Is Khris Middleton the All-Star level player he was prior to his injuries? No. Does that make him "cooked?" What if he became a productive and reliable sixth man? Do we consider his salary or don't we?
The reason I voted "no" is because I consider a player to be "cooked" when they cannot be a dependable contributor to the rotation anymore. I don't think Khris is there.
We don't need Indy Khris, IMO. We need Khris to give us 10-15 minutes or so a game where he can be an effective pivot offensively. Where he can run a two-man game with Dame and Giannis. Where he can post a guy up and hit that patented fade away. Where he can initiate the offense, play passable defense, and carry the second unit for those (hopefully very few) minutes where he's not on the court with Dame or Giannis. I still think he can do those things, as long as he doesn't have another injury setback (which is obviously the elephant in the room).
For the other 30-35 minutes, you've got Dame and Giannis and the ball will be in their hands. Khris only has to facilitate and spot up. And I think he is very capable of doing those things.
I know that we've had some Khris no shows. They are concerning. If he didn't have those no shows, I don't think we'd be seriously considering moving him for LaVine or Butler.
But Khris used to have these kind of no shows even before he got hurt. That's why Khris was one of biggest sources of division on this board for years prior to his physical decline.
I'm not opposed to trading Khris at all in the right package. But I'm also not convinced that he couldn't help us make a run if we can stay healthy otherwise.

Do you think Khris is a third option on a championship team? I guess that's my definition here, and yes I think he's cooked.

Love this! Imagine 5 KMs trotting around and all pointing at who other KMs should be covering on D.. Has an NBA team ever given up 200 points?

The Bucks defense is good with Middleton on the floor. In fact the Bucks defense is good with any of their players on the floor, except Dame. The defense absolutely craters when Dame steps on the floor, he's one the the biggest negatives in the entire league.

If money was no object, imagine how many Middletons we could get for Giannis in trade... 20?
