Full MLE is reasonable to assume. I can see fringe type contenders taking a chance on offering him that money easily. If he can give you approx 60 games season, teams will sign him. Ball is the type of player that quietly improves your team and just has a knack for leveling things off and settling you down.

CAP issues and age limits aside, him playing alongside Steph Curry or Jokic in Denver would be fun basketball to watch.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

I think it goes without saying that he's got to shoot significantly better for the rest of the season to justify any significant contract. He's really been terrible shooting the ball while defending and passing well.

My interest in him is predicated on not tanking, but we're committed to trading Zach, I think you let Ball walk.

No way he gets 20M per, too risky.. that GM should be fired lol

Unless after 1st season, every next is TO..

He is totaly staying at least this year. No way you post that 2 weeks before trading him.

P.S. He probably gets 3/40 in the summer.

Eh, I don't think that matters at all. I doubt their social media team has much interaction with the front office. I suspect the Bulls would be completely happy to keep Ball, but if there's a trade that makes sense they'll do it.

I would give him 15 million for as many years as he wants, or 20 on a 2+1 team option.

Will be interesting to see if he takes more long term or higher per year short term.

Don’t think anyone will offer more than 2 years

As an example of what the general media thinks of him, Windhorst thinks we'll just buy him out of his contract and he'll sign as a min player somewhere.

Windhorst is just  sometimes..

He is easily tradeable guy if he wants to go to contender.. also he will get plenty of offers next season above vet minimum.

I would prefer to keep him over Giddey, 2yrs deal, 2nd season T.O., up to 15M per..

He's in his 8th NBA season and has only once played more than 55 games. He has also never been a particularly efficient scorer, except for the 35-game season with us, when he was good (but not great).

I mean sure, he's a versatile player who is more valuable than his stats suggest when he is playing and healthy, but that sounds and feels like a major overpay. Equivalent to loading up the truck for a similar player, Caruso, who has given OKC a grand total of 533 minutes this season.

If its anything more than a 1+1 it will be a terrible deal....he is playing well so far but he is also still Lonzo Ball and can be in a coma 5 minutes after he steps foot on the floor. I am not risking MORE money and MORE years after the last 3 years of Lonzo-Injury-Hell to be subjected to more of it.

Feels insane that we perceive Lonzo to have been healthy and good this year when he's 11th in minutes played and one of our worst shooter/scorers. Yes, yes, he's a high quality defender - probably our best, and a good passer/ball handler. But that's it.

Not really interested in keeping him unless it's a good deal AND we get rid of at least two from among Giddey, Patrick, Coby and Ayo.

An underrated part of rebuilding is clearing the decks, so to speak. We have way too many flawed perimeter guys. Need to pick a couple to proceed with, dump the rest and create new opportunities.

Caruso and his 48% TS% was given a 4 year $80m deal

Because despite always missing time with injuries - he, like Lonzo, are huge +/- darlings and incredible defenders.

Lonzo is also a better passer and has been a good volume 3-point shooter.

Hell no. 10 million per for 2 years with a team option note second year. We have already given him generational wealth for doing nothing for two years.

3/$45M doesn't bother me if he makes it through this season without further injury (still a big IF). Better with a 3rd year TO, but that's MLE money and if we still stink, I think he could be a guy that could net us a 1st in trade on that contract.

I wouldn't mind us running with a line-up of Ball, Lavine, Giddey, Matas, Smith. It isn't sexy, but it about as balanced as we can get with this roster. White, Ayo, Pwill off the bench seems like a decent 8 man rotation.

I have him as one of my keeps
Ayo/Matas/Smith-clearly keep
PWill-keep because he's currently at negative value, and if he plays well the 2nd half of the year, keep him
CWhite OR Giddy-keep one. I would prefer Giddy, but ONLY as a bench piece. Coby has move value too. Start Matas
Vuc/Lavine-trade and clear $ (get some sort of asset)
Keep our pick

This is a 5 years ago price. Inflation has hit the salary cap hard.

In true fashion AKME can't stay focused on one lane and don't want to sell high on Lonzo. No point in doing a rebuild if you don't want to cash in your chips, this FO is utterly ridiculous!

Lonzo Ball just turned 27 years old. He's plenty young enough to be part of our "rebuild" if things align this summer, and even if they don't, his bird rights in FA may be worth just as much or maybe even more than he has as a partial season rental right now.
