A combination of favorable match ups in the palyoffs and a whole lot of luck. Being matched up with a real contender like Boston ends up in almost a 4-0 sweep.

Favourable matchups means beating 1st, 3rd and 4th team without home court advantage? They played against 4/5 best teams in Nba.

If Mavs want to win more games without Luka, Kyrie should have played a lot better and take some playmaking duties on. Unfortunately he couldn't do that. January was his worst month. His shooting % down and he was averaging only 4.4 assists. 4.4 assists and 2.6 TO is pretty bad. The worst part is that Mavs had pretty difficult schedule from now on, 8th the most difficult. And it's highly unlikely Luka can immediately start playing in great form after being out so long.

I see daoneandonly continuing to hate Luka, at least that's consistent. 7 years and counting.

If Klay Thompson is our assist leader we have no chances even against high school team.

Kyrie and Dinwiddie play constantly hero ball and they don't involve their teammates but Kidd is happy with that. Hero ball is the first 7 plays of his playbook.

We miss Luka too much because he have a bad coach.

Watch how Mosley and Udoka teams play it's sad.

Yes he had a lot of luck and his name was Luka Doncic.

We miss this kind of luck right now... Change DinLosiddie with Luka and everything will be good again.

Yea daoneandonly will continue to call out Luka. He has a supermax contract, been out a month, and still no timetable for return. You think MJ or Kobe would be laughing all the time on the bench if they were out and the team was losing? Or Luka's idol, Lebron? But he invests time and money on his body instead of hookah and beer, so he barely got injured when he was Luka's age

Mavs beat 3 different opponents with different styles, withstood some improbable shooting barrages (McDaniels , Reid) while losing many close games on some improbable makes (Clippers game 4, Thunder game 4, Wolves game 4).
If anything, Mavs had bad luck in these PO except game 6 against the Thunder.

If that's the case, then the "almost" 4-0 sweep could just be attributed to the mavs running out of gas in the finals.

I read that Silver is considering lowering the NBA quarter minutes from 12 to 10 minutes per quarter. Maybe that helps Luka to not run out if gas in the finals? That would be favorable for the Mavs if they also lessen the number of games from 82 per season to around 60-something.

Lebron has some freaky type of genetics. Luka has bad European genes that gain weight easily. He will never be the same athletic specimen like Lebron. Its mostly genetics and I dont see Luka going back to his body weight when he was a rookie. It's just like this from here on out. You take the good with the bad.

I have to be very careful here, it's very difficult to understand how someone can't understand that calf injury, after being hit by Looney, can happen to everyone. Even iron MJ has missed almost entire second year because of an injury. You believe he's ok and doesn't want to play? What about Lively, he is drinking a lot of beer and smoking **** too?

Hating on an injured player is a bit much, but hey you were hating him even when he was still playing in Europe, I wonder if that's personal?

Be aware of who you are talking to. Young brats nowadays don't understand that mentality.

Yes Dirk has the so-called European genes too and he was fat like Robert “Tractor” Traylor.

I didn't say ALL Europeans. That would be a sweeping statement for a whole continent.

I just said he has THE bad one specifically.

Ok assuming you are right about the bad genes that Luka has, don't you have to work EXTRA hard to be able to reach to your full potential, instead of say "I have the bad genes" then give a shrug after?

Look at Jokic, his conditioning is waaayyyyyyy better than Luka as an European who has the fat genes.

I fully agree. Dirk became Dirk because of the extra work that he did.

Luka's situation is compounded because aside from having bad genes, he's also pretty lazy it seems.
