Trading Dame without having seen a single playoff game with him and Giannis together is a real tough sell. Still clinging to the idea that these guys are vets and coasting until the end of the season. And with the way the last few years have gone, let them coast.

I think its time we realize that this roster is way to flawed to win a chip! We have or I have said over the last three years that this roster was way too old , slow and not enough length. Like someone said , we should just do some minor tinkering around the edges this year to help to alleviate some cap issues for next year!

There is no way by trading Midds and Bobby for a malcontent like Butler that this will somehow take us over the top. We still would need to find another front court player, we just seen on this last road trip how bad it was without Bobby providing the depth and rotation that he provided!

Lets re- tool for next year , Brook , Midds, Pat cannot be on the team next year. Try to find some length and quickness in their place. Ajax plays only in case of emergency, he's just too one dimensional! Same for Green, although I think he can improve!

Bottom line is I'm not trading for a 35 year old player that wants a huge contract and other teams cast offs because we certainly are not getting a player that can help with our trade assets!

Time to let Horst go, understanding that where we draft its hard to get impact players , but he has literally not hit on any ! His trades have been good , but it seems he over pays a lot. Maybe he does this because of cap reasons, not sure!

The Bucks remain in aggressive pursuit of Zach LaVine.

Milwaukee is willing to include Khris Middleton and draft compensation in discussions with the Bulls.

If LaVine indeed ends up in Milwaukee, it will likely happen with multiple facilitating teams involved.

Barf

We’re not getting anything extra, they want our last assets

LaVine is not it. Doesn’t extend window, doesn’t move needle at all. He’s not young and has been literally untradable for seasons.

Hes young comoared to jimmy what 27 28 something like that and for the record article did say 2 players would be coming to milwaukee levine n forgot other name

Young is not a relative thing like that. LaVine is 30 and misses action all the time & has been considered unmovable for years

Trade Dame next year if we can’t get out of first/second round this year. Get 3 young players including one very good player—— they need to be agile.

This year trade Pc to get under 2nd apron such that we get the ability to aggregate multiple players for one player. Then trade Portis only for an athletic decently good player, OR trade Portis and Khris for Butler or Lavine. If none of this is possible, play with the current roster; absolutely try AJ Johnson now for his quickness and potential, Now. Also try Tyler Smith. Give them a chance now; Rollins is useless. Green must play. Ajax is a terrible offensive player, good on defensive hustle, but I don’t see him playing has any positive impact on our defense against quick opponents. Try the defense of Johnson and Tyler to see how their balanced offense defense combo works, Now.

We do need to get out of the second apron. This is no way to live.

Agreed. And as I've said previously in this thread, getting under the apron this year is important even if there are no other major moves. Besides not being able to aggregate salaries in trades if we're in the apron at the end of the year our '32 FRP is frozen, can't be traded. That by itself may not be terrible but if we're in the apron 2 of 4 years that pick automatically goes to the end of the first round, #30. We can't risk that.

So if nothing else is done this week we have to get under the apron. Moving Pat is the obvious move. But other teams know that too and aren't going to automatically do us any favors.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Best option is to get Lavine. If it doesn’t work out, he will be easier to trade out next year compared to trading out Khris and Butler for age reasons.

Next year we can, if necessary, trade Levine and Dame to get a bunch of young very good players.

Bottom line: we can hope for a championship Only if we have Giannis in his prime/late prime. There is no other chance.

Excellent chance Lavine is as untradeable next year as he was last year.

Trade Pc for a low quality 15th roster spot player from any team or for a meager amount of cash if possible.

Hoping something that doesn't work in the regular season will work in the playoffs is also a real tough sell.

Fewer years on that deal is a big change for LaVine’s valuation even aside from how good he’s looked this season.

If Bucks trade for him I imagine the plan is to give it a go at least through the end of next season.

Then he either opts out or is an ending contract.

Never would have thought the sneaky hard cap would affect my favorite team so much.

3 games until the deadline. Two of them are likely losses. Things are going to get interesting real soon.

Still have a soft spot for Mo. He doesn’t have the killer instinct but that’s fine.

Still feel like we could’ve turned him into a stud under Bud/playing behind Lopez.

LaVine has had a true shooting percentage over 60 in 4 out of the last 5 seasons. He’s played over 2,000minutes every year other than last year since 2018.

The only thing that made him “untradable” was the big contract, but he’s on the back end of that contract and contracts have only gone up since he signed his deal.

If they are willing to include the 2031 pick with minimal protections (top 1, 3, or 5) there is no way the Bulls would turn down Portis/Midds/PatC/Marjon /2031 1st for Lavine/JalenSmith
Bulls could bring in a third team to flip Portis to and get another pick out of it. They’d get out of the Lavine money a year earlier and have space for the 26 free agent class.

Then move Brook to the bench and go zone when he’s out there. Or flip Brook somewhere and try to get another switchable big back.

I like this trade a lot, Jimmy seems locked to GSW or PHX. Lottery protected and I'd include the pick. Guess it all depends how many teams are trying to acquire LaVine.

We get way younger and athletic with this. And Smith can hopefully play when Brook is unplayable against certain matchups in the playoffs. Then you resign Brook to a much cheaper deal if he wants to keep playing. And then Khris opts out and comes back for cheap

I wonder if Utah would flip Bamba for Marjon. Gets us a desperately needed center and they get a look at a young guy.

Also gets us 700k closer to the apron.

honestly were not that good. this road trip makes that pretty **** obvious.

but maybe we can be good.

i remember the FTD season was kind of like every other herb year....we were trudging around mediocre as hell and then over the course of a couple weeks signed stackhouse off the scrap heap and...

Traded Joe Alexander, Hakim Warrick and a 2010 1st round draft pick (Kevin Séraphin was later selected) to the Chicago Bulls for John Salmons, a 2010 1st round draft pick (Larry Sanders was later selected), a 2011 2nd round draft pick (Isaiah Thomas was later selected) and a 2012 2nd round draft pick (Robert Sacre was later selected)

we blew up after that trade. 24-28 before the salmons deal.....22-8 after. we know if bogut hadnt got hurt how excited we were.

that deal today is basically trading todays marjon beauchamp, bobby portis and our 2031 pick for yesteryears john salmons, larry sanders, isaiah thomas.

thats the deal we should be looking for if were not going to blow the whole thing up. who is this years john salmons out there and how do we get the other two along with him in a trade for spare parts and a pick 6 years away.

the year we won the championship we also went from pretty demoralizing.....giannis was reportedly considering retirement ffs....how do we get that pj tucker guy to take a team with lower expectations playing out of the 4 seed into a team that wins it all.

i dont think a big swing is what we need right now unless we clear out everybody but giannis. i kind of am to the point that if we trade khris we might as well just liquidate the entire roster with a reset. call it a day and aim for a 2-3 year plan with something different altogether next year

The big contract was one factor, but other factors that made him untradeable were his terrible defense, frequent injury history, and uncaring attitude. Those things haven't changed.
