GS/Dal/Mia. Butler/Wiggins/? (Who's expendable Dallas fans?)
Would have put this in the Butler thread, but it's more of a question for Dallas fans thread.
Looking at Butler to GS deals, it looks like it'll take Wiggins, the GP2 and Looney expirings and one of Hield or SloMo. Plus draft capital.
Wiggins doesn't fit the Heat 2026 cap space timeline contractually, but, imo, there's several teams that could use him. Some where he'd be the final piece to heavy contender status (Dalas, Cavs, Memphis, Bucks, maybe Detroit-many of the teams who probably be interested in Butler under the right circumstances ironically)
I look at Dallas because they have intriguing smaller contracts to send GS to reach the roster minimum after having to deal so much for Butler (Omax, Exum, Grimes) and contracts that fit Miami's 2026 timeline.
However, I'm not familiar enough with the Mavs to know who is expendable and who isn't. So bringing this thought exercise to the board to gauge Mavs fans interest in Wiggins as part of facilitating a Butler trade and who they think would be available?

Everyone is expendable here.. but you need to convey Klay into a two year deal realistically.
Edit: the names listed in the OP are expendable* the four starters should not be available for Wiggins.

Not taking Wiggins unless Klay is going out

PJ and Gafford probably aren't. Or Lively.
Dallas would be hoping their 1st makes up for the unattractive matching salary

You have the other problem that both Hield and SloMo are too long for Miami as well, so someone else (or Dallas) needs to take one of them, as well, so this isn't just Dallas that has to help out, here.

They both are non guaranteed. (Buddy actuall 3 mil guaranteed but seems very minor.)

Good to know. Give us SloM9, send Wiggins to Toronto for Brown and call it a day

Would probably needs 4th team then. GS can’t take him if they wanted to and he doesn’t fit the Heat timeline. Does Toronto take him for Brown if Dallas adds a first? Brown gets routed to Miami?

Wouldn't it make more sense for Toronto to just take Wiggins?

To get Wiggins, anyone but our established rotation players (Luka, Kyrie, Klay, P.J, D-Live, Gafford) are up for grabs.
Very complicated because it'd have to be multiple players (I'm assuming Dallas won't dangle Klay at least till this season's over).

Toronto has nothing to give GS. Not sure they take Wiggins anyway without draft capital and, imo, GS is only giving out one protected first. If it goes to Toronto, the Heat don’t get a pick.
Point of Dallas in this scenario is, between them and the Heat, there’s enough minimum deals for GS to reach the roster minimum after likely going 4 for 1 for Butler and they could really use Wiggins

It would be Miami getting the value, not Golden State.

Maple Jordan? I don't think it would cost a thing to make that exchange as they're winning in talent and getting a huge fan favorite.

But they have to satisfy Miami, too. Dallas fans being, understandably, unwilling to give anything of value makes it incredibly unlikely Miami is going to agree to what they offer.

If contracts that fit the 2026 plan and a first rounder don’t satisfy Miami, then I’m sure all parties are more than happy to shake hands and move on. I doubt Toronto is in anymore of a hurry to take on a contract with multiple years just cause the player is from Canada any more that Miami would if he was local

What contacts? Dallas fans object to everyone but Klay, who's going to cost more to move. I would think Toronto would certainly prefer a useful Wiggins to Thompson which should make him cheaper to move. A couple of second round picks probably does it unless they consider him a positive value player, which is certainly feasible

Hence why the Thompson to Toronto scenario includes a Dallas first going to Toronto as well. Raps aren’t a win now team, Wiggins don’t fit the timeline, so they likely would want draft capital for taking him on. Whether or not some seconds would do it is probably a question for Raps fans.
Not sure why this is an issue with you as a Heat fan as this scenario gets you Brown, contracts that fit the 2026 plan and a first

Personally, I think you're over complicating things. It would make more sense to just deal him to Toronto. I don't think they'll need compensation for that trade and he's easily flipped. Helll, send him to us and let us do it! Two year deals of useless contracts and a first gets you Wiggins!
We're talking about a player who is a positive asset and flipping him like he's a negative.
We don't have to have an expiring deal when the asset can return an asset!

Would Miami be interested in Rui and a 2029 LAL FRP for Wiggins? Maybe throw in a 2028 swap too
