I don’t think Bobby is going to walk away from millions of dollars to smoke weed, become a rapper, ride skateboards, and fight Albanians. One of those things that only happens once

As I was in the offseason, when I thought Bobby/Brook/1st/early second could really pull some help, I still think the big situation and POA defense is the main problem. Ajax is doing what he can, and maybe he develops, but he's not ready, too many dumb decisions. Brook and Bobby are just too limited against various teams, and we have Giannis just waiting to play the center spot, but we have nobody to open up that lineups at the four. It's not Khris, it's not Ajax, Bobby, Pat or anyone on the roster.

We traded Jrue for Dame and rolled with the exact same roster. Dumb. Ajax and Green developing into what they have helped. Trent and Prince weren't bad signings but not moving any needles. Khris has gotten slower, Bobby hasn't changed, Brook is still Brook. I'm not sure where we go with the roster, even from the offseason our asset pool has gotten worse and the holes have become even more glaring. I doubt there's a real miracle solution and a huge blowup seems unlikely but I'd be focusing so much more on defense versatility than anything.

I doubt the Pistons trade Beasley when they are fighting for their playoff spot. They might be interested in trading Stewart to not deal with his outbursts but that would leave them a little short handed.

I think the Portis out personal reasons is 100% he will be traded before the deadline. Probably several deals setup and just waiting for dominos to fall.

move patc for space and then the trade that helps is...... portis, marjon, delons salary and the 2031 #1 for the off the radar baller/ballers.

thats the trade that can actually help if its out there

if we move khris i hope we just blow it up completely. id be fine with that too.

I haven’t been able to find a needle-moving trade target we could get with this package.

Even aside from the asset level the amount of salary we could take back is very limiting without Khris or Brook.

Open to ideas!

I wonder how close Portis + '31 1st gets us to Mathurin. Have to figure out backup big and doesn't really solve our lack of athleticism in the frontcourt.

I struggle with him. He's more of an iso heavy athletic 2/3 than the athletic 3/4 that we need.

Ryan Rollins playing like G leaguer the last few games hurts my soul. Usually I can find a silver lining in a loss if Rollins plays like a promising young prospect but when he stinks and we lose, I feel lost lol.

If we don’t get Lavine or Butler, Horst may trade Bobby for another player, perhaps ValenC as had been rumored in one place about a week ago and I had then written about in this board.

I'm not really in favor of trading for Lavine but if the Bucks do trade for him the best case scenario would be him becoming the wing version of Towns. Towns faced so many questions about being an offensive only player with a bad contract and now he is flourishing. Sometimes it takes the right situation and perfect timing so everything can come together.

Bobby is better than Valanciunas. What would be the point of that trade?

Lavine or Mathurin or whatever other scoring focused 2 guard is not gonna change the comical lack of athleticism in our front court outside of 34. If we don't at least get an athletic, playoff viable defense/rebounding big I would consider this deadline a failure and it would honestly kill my hopes for the season entirely.

The problem is everyone wants athletic, playoff viable defense/rebounding bigs. Why would anyone trade one away for what we have to offer?
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Jalen Smith seems like he’d be a good get as part of a LaVine deal fwiw.

He’s only 24 but I’m not clear if he’s more journeyman than long term rotation piece who maybe could develop enough to start next to Giannis.

"Loved him," Carlisle said when asked by a Chicago reporter about his experience coaching Smith. "He's one of the most wonderful young men I've ever been around. Always in a great mood, high level of skill. He's a great rebounder and he can really shoot the ball and he can block shots. He knows how to play. He's a great teammate. I was really disappointed that we lost him, but I could really see that it was gonna happen. He's just too good."

Smith now finds himself in a similar position on a Bulls team that wants to play the way the Pacers did last year. The Bulls rank fifth in the league in scoring and first in pace and it helps when a team is playing that fast to have a center who can run like Smith can. He's averaging 8.0 points and 5.1 rebounds in 14.8 minutes per game as the backup for starter Nikola Vucevic [as of Dec. 10].

One of my favorite trade proposals so far. I don’t think it’s totally out of the question either.

Cam would be a perfect fit, Sharpe is a backup big we should be targeting anyway, and Zaire would be an interesting flier on an expiring contract.
