It's called PTSD - Pistons Traumatic Sucking Disorder - and it's a real thing.
It's been so long since we've been a decent team that it's taking awhile for it to sink in that we might not lose.
There are painful flashbacks of past failures and lost wars, of no one cheering at the end for our valiant fandom.
Be kind. These things take time (and meds in some cases -I'm fond of Long Island Iced "medicines") to process.

Yup. My doc prescribed 3 of those, 20 minutes prior to each Pistons game. I'm seeing him again next week, as the pain has eased some. Hoping I can move down to several craft beers.Uncle Mxy wrote:smann7 wrote:BadMofoPimp wrote:Typical Pistons collapse . . .

How bad would this team be without Cade?
See the Wizards record (also keeping in mind that Ivey is injured). Cade might be the MVP of the league in terms of actual value to the team. Even Jokic has some good support players.
If Cade had a running mate, say like a Pascal Siakam level guy, this would be a legit playoff contender. Maybe not title contender but a solid 2nd tier team.

Great win, have a nice long home stretch here. Would love for Langdon to reward the team with a nice complimentary player so they can make a push for the 6 seed.

Great win. A team would should've beaten with Luka out, but definitely the type of team that's gotten over on us before. Nice to see Cade's will to win on full display on both ends of the court. Nice to see Duren bringing energy as well. If he could consisstently play like he does in games like this, we'd have no questions about his future here. Nice to see BBall Paul getting more time too with Stew suspended. Dude is just so good at the fundamentals.

If Duren played like this every night, he would probably be in the all-star game.Kalamazoo317 wrote:Great win. Durens whole problem, seems to be foul trouble. After h picks up his first foul, his whole demeanor changes, and he doesn't play as hard, and it goes downhill from there. I give him a pass, to a certain extent as he's only 21(just). Its his third year, and he is starting to show serious flashes, here and there.
He has to stay on the floor. He's at only 25mpg right now, as he picks up two early fouls in the first quarter, then doesn't play for an entire quarter. He makes a serious impact, when he locked in and focused.

Eh, I don't think 16 points and 13 rebounds a night is getting anyone to the all-star game. Duren's biggest issue, imo, other than having a very small range offensively, is his defensive IQ, awareness, and positioning (and possibly timing). But he can make up for both of those downsides when he consistently brings a high motor. He's just not good enough at the fundamentals or freakish enough at anything other than catching lobs to not bring full energy all the time, though.

Of those things, TIMING is the biggest thing I'm surprised he struggles with. I'm almost certain every dunk Stew has blocked would be a foul on Duren. He's just always a hair off with his contests which messes with his positioning and leads to fouls called.Kalamazoo317 wrote:Eh, I don't think 16 points and 13 rebounds a night is getting anyone to the all-star game. Nice win, sets us up for sucess going forward these next few games, which i'm expecting to win.
Like seeing any mini slip not become reversion to mean (losing habit).
We are building a winning culture, no more of this namby pamby "gold star" for effort atmosphere, lets be about the business of winning every possible matchup.
Cade deserves nothing less than that belief and effort, like he brings.

Gees, first we beat the Kings and took out their coach, now we beat the Mavs and killed their whole franchise!

They owe Charlotte a first in ‘27 that is only top two protected. The Spurs get to decide if they want to swap firsts in 2030. Their top two stars are established enough to force trades to certain teams. And the GM that created a trade that made the world think Shams had got hacked, is in charge. Good luck Mavs fans
Meanwhile a suddenly motivated Luka joins the Lakers and will be getting advice from a 40 year old averaging 24/8/9 with great overall stats
Any team hoping that the Lakers picks they own will have major upside just lost all that hope
