The point is, he could have used his opt-out to get to his preferred team, and as soon as that became public, the Cavs would have lost a lot of leverage, like SAC has lost with Fox basically targeting San Antonio.

lol that's even worse. Of all the teams Mavs had to pick, it had to be the Lakers

Their main issue(among many) is defense and they did not get better there at all lol
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Sounds like a move that would get a GM fired.

Half the league could have beat this offer. Something is up. Were Lakers set up for max space in '26? Why would they make this trade now?

Lmao bro Lakers could go 0-82 next season and this would still be the greatest trade in NBA history.

lol wtf I was laughing at the hack and this turns out to be real?

There had to be some internal issues with Luka or he told them he wasn't gonna extend? Only way this makes any sense.

Would like to hear behind the scenes story on this one. Surely, you would think Mavs could've gotten a haul more massive than the one they ended up getting. Had heard Cuban is no longer in control there. Wonder if that is actually true and if so, what he must be thinking. Luka was the franchise and now he's gone just like that without warning.

On the other hand, how does Doncic fit with LeBron and no big man? I guess for talent like that, maybe you act first and ask questions later? But with neither of them playing defense and them having traded a major defensive piece in AD, I'm thinking they are going to be even less of a threat to compete this year than before the trade? Not sure how they'd build a team around those two having traded away so many trade assets already.

I don't understand this for Dallas.

Is there video dropping shortly of Doncic killing kittens?

No they couldn't. AD is better value than anything Raptors got. AD is even more valuable than Scottie at this age.

But Mavs could have got much better value than that.

Anthony Davis is 31 (will be 32 in March). While he may no longer be as injury prone as he used to be, the Mavs just made themselves worse.

An offer of multiple FRP's, and pick literally a combo of anyone not named Scottie Barnes and that package is right there.
