To be fair, Max Christie and the Lakers 2029 FRP are okay side pieces for the Mavs. It's not as lop sided as it may seem at first glance, it's just the shock out of it happening from nowhere

Adam Silver, the NBA and whoever else, must've paid the Mavericks a lot of money for this to happen.

There is no way this went down the way it did without some collusion, especially if Luka didn't ask for it.

I kinda cant fault them for trading Luka considering he hasnt addressed the conditioning problems and its led to more and more injuries and loss of athleticism. Rare moment of a franchise trading while the value is near peak

But they could gotten a bit more, but then again, there might be some more troubling things on his physicals that we dont know about

He literally just took the team to the finals, hasn't even entered his prime. Who cares if he came into the season a little out of shape

He limped his way through the playoffs and had probably 1 good series against Minny, then came into this season out of shape.

I dont have a problem with the Mavs getting ahead of this and coming to the conclusion that Luka is unreliable as your MVP who will be getting paid 60-70 mill per year. The problem is deciding to continue to contend while trading him. You coulda got a boatload from Houston for him (one of the players Amen is on the table for) while trading Kyrie to the Lakers for more picks. It was a bad trade, not necessarily a bad conclusion

Pretty much, his conditioning has consistenly worsened each season. It didnt matter how much fans of the NBA and Mavs called him out on it. The knee bleeding stuff. The nagging injuries.

I agree, they shouldve just went full tank. Sent out Kyrie, PJ, & Gafford. Keep Lively and have like 10+ 1st and a bunch of young talent you get from the trades too to build from

Why would LeBron be pissed? He gets a much better teammate who can actually take off the offensive load from his 40 year shoulders. He probably helped facilitate it.

Luka is better than AD in vacuum but not this season (injury) and not on this imbalanced Lakers team. They already had defensive issues / needed a big with AD on the team..
