It's got to be a bummer for him. You may be right on Luka franchises just don't trade their star player like this unless they foresee something or are sure of it.

AD has barely missed 10 games so far this season and last season. With Lebron still with the Lakers, he'll hook up Luka with his European connections as well, so Luka gets them undetectable performance drugs that keeps him from missing games.

KD looks very perplexed reading this news....and Beal is kind of like WTF?

He's not the only one. I would've flown to Phoenix from here in Hawaii and driven Booker to the airport myself if need be to make this happen. Then driven back for KD

Booker by himself beats the hell out of 32 yr old AD in value....

So, Lakers are replacing Lebron.

It's crazy that the Lakers are still 5th in the West with old-as-dirt Lebron and then AD. I do wonder if Lebron will actually be getting moved. This would seem like a move that is made to shake up the league and get those ratings back up.

This was clearly Luka asking out saying he was gonna sign with Lakers in 2026. Teams just don't trade a star MVP caliber player away like this. Luka said he did not know, I call BS. They could have gotten so many better offers for Luka.

My cousin said there was a fan going off yelling "We need Jimmy" or something to that affect. Security had to tell the dude to quit it. Definitely close enough to the bench for the team to hear it. Beal probably shocked because he's worried he was getting traded somewhere where he didn't give the thumbs up to go to.

Suns would have traded Booker for Luka. Mavs could have gotten so many better offers.

Just watch how Lakers D will look now. People just look at names like Ishbia did and have zero clue how basketball works. This trade is for replacing Lebron with Luka. Those two will not win **** together.

Dude the point is not about LeBron/Luka duo. Lebron will probably retire in a year or two. Nobody cares about LeBron anymore.

THE POINT IS THAT THE LAKERS WILL BE A CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER FOR THE NEXT 10-12 YEARS AT MINIMUM WITH A GUY LIKE LUKA ON THE TEAM.

Once LeBron retires, FAs are gonna line up like crazy to play for the lakers. Lakers will have more than enough cap space for it too. Play with a young Luka who makes EVERY player look good and a big market like the Lakers? What’s not to love?

The lakers are gonna be a good team now till your kids have kids. *****ing bitches they are.

Lol the drama. Luka is 30+ body wise and will get paid a fortune. Lakers still need to put a good roster around him. Next 10y belong to other teams as I posted above.

Well I heard the guy yell in the the tweet you posted and it had Book in it. I don't see Book in this one. I think Beal just tunes it all out honestly. I would.

I think this makes the Mavs tougher this year. I don't think Jimmy does enough for us to get us out of the first round.

That is, if we make the playoffs. Tonight was weird. Book started off the 3rd looking awesome and by the end of it he threw two bad turnovers in a row when we desperately needed to stop the bleeding. Also it was weird to watch Ayton and all those alley oops. It reminded me of always wishing we would run with him and players would pass it high, and that the slow it down with Chris Paul, despite him being good with bigs, wasn't what Ayton was best at...how he was always great in fast break and could finish anything near the rim. But he was always playing against a set defense.

Of course you see the laziness everywhere else and the record breaking low FT attempts for a 7 footer. But still, sometimes it would be nice to have that big that can just finish in there consistently and even shoot midrange jumpers. We iso too much to run a lot though and we are the oldest team, possibly about to get a lot older, so we are not likely to see any run and gun Sun teams in a while.

Trades that happen out of the blue are fake news. Just ask Donald Trump they are fake news! This trade will get vetoed tomorrow nobody knew about this trade other teams are supposed to know and have a chance at Luka sweepstakes. This is not correct and Lakers will be heavily punished. MARK MY WORDS!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lakers should be able to sign a big name, but with the depth and youth and athleticism some of these teams have, the Lakers are unlikely to be near the favorites. I don't see anyone passing up OKC in the near future, given that they are so loaded, are dominating without Chet and Hartenstein and have so many picks they can just keep bringing in young cheap talent on rookie contracts. They can afford quite a few busts.

Houston will only get better too.

And Memphis.

Now if the Lakers can somehow land JJJ in 2026 when he is a FA the same time Luka is set to be, that would probably be about the best duo you could count on. He has became an unafraid killer and is a beast defensively, can drain 3s, block shots, etc.

Hoping he stays in Memphis.

This makes Dallas better for the next year or two. Still nuts they couldn’t get more picks from LA.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Trade will be fine and Luka is a Laker.

They still didn't have to accept doodoo on a platter. Plenty of stars have requested a trade and kick off a bidding war

They could have gotten Booker for him. Suns would have done it.

In this trade market, Beal + our first rounders for Jokic? Only slight less ridiculous than today's doncic trade.
