The problem is everyone wants athletic, playoff viable defense/rebounding bigs. Why would anyone trade one away for what we have to offer?

I think Dereck Lively just became available.

Lakers have anything good they’d give us for Brook?

Maybe they cash in Austin Reaves now for a big but I’m pretty sure they can do a lot better than Brook. Maybe Brooks expiring is enticing tho, they get immediate ammo for a run this year and Brook expires. Can’t see it for Reaves but if they have any 1sts then maybe Rui and a 1st for Brook? Not sure if I like that or not.

What's better, Dame/Prince or Butler/ Reeves?

Brook and our 1st for Reeves and Vanderbilt, then Dame for Jimmy and Ware.

The AD + for Luka + gives me hope that an Deni Avdija trade could be possible. What would be the Bucks/PDX equivalent? Midds and Lopez for Avdija and Ayton works but, they probably would want to shed more space. Midds, Lopez, Pat for Avdija, Grant, Williams, and the '31 picks. How could they say no to that. Lol

I’d 100% do Midds/Brook/Pat/both 31 picks for Avdija/Grant/Williams
Gets under the second apron, gets an actual starting SF, gives you two bigs that you can try pairing with Giannis for a full switch lineup, and removes the two slowest players from the rotation so you could maybe hide Dame on D better.

Would the two picks and shedding Grant’s awful contract two years early be worth it to the Blazers for Avdija?

Bucks still probably need a point of attack defender but maybe they could flip Bobby for one?

Grant's contract isn't even that bad and you can easily move him over the next couple of years. I'd easily do Middleton straight up for Grant.

Horst now has the green light to do my Dame for Fox/Keegan deal. No one will even cover it.

Those guys exist on teams who don’t necessarily have hopes of contending and would be open to trading someone like that. I keep going back to PJ Washington on the Hornets or Gafford on the Wizards last year. I’m pretty confident between Khris, Bobby, and the ‘31 1st (with some level of protections) we could find someone matching that description.

We’re not going to come out of this deadline a perfectly built team, but just about no team is, and we don’t need to be, either.

The 2021 Phoenix suns had Ayton as their starting center and then had Frank Kaminsky backing him up.

The 2024 Mavs had no stalwart perimeter defenders, played Luka and Irving, and still formed a functional playoff defense.

We don’t need to plug every hole, and we can absolutely reshape the roster that gives us a much better chance. There will just need to be multiple moving parts.

I think Dame is extremely flawed, but I think Fox is even more flawed, and Murray is nothing more than a defensive specialist. We can do better in a Dame trade.

What are the chances we make no trades…not because we don’t want to, but because we are so limited contract wise, we can’t?

It's very possible. I'm sure Horst is talking to many teams about many players. But it's entirely possible no one is interested in what we have to offer and/or we are outbid. While everyone here wants us to "do something" it's not that simple.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

I'd rather trade Dame for Sabonis, and then we go get Reeves for our new PG

Why would the Nets want Khris?
