Have y'all not taken into account Mark Cuban sold the team who is looking to finance an arena/ casino??? Business-wise that pays for itself but also paying Luka $345M/ 5yrs may not seem feasible for them.
Clearly the new owners aren't fans they're in it for business and to make money. The casino arena is more of a coup than anything Luka could provide to them as they anticipate the team will sell itself (ticket wise etc). Luka's salary becomes a negative to them in all likelihood.
Cuban signed off on this obviously but had he been in complete control I don't think this happens as he was more of a fan but the business model I can guarantee makes sense to them.
Why the Lakers then
Why not the Lakers?
It's Anthony Davis. Guys acting like they got **** on a stick.
What other 4 man is available (as AD says he wants to play the PF spot)?
Giannis ain't available and there's no other PF in the League that moves the needle enough to keep DAL as contenders.
And picks young developing players is a rebuilding package which is not what they're doing. It makes no sense so everyone crying "but they could've let the offers roll in and see what's out there" well tell us what's out there that makes them remain competitive RIGHT NOW as currently constricted to win it all?
That's their goal not "look at all the draft picks we got for Luka!"
