It would take some time for LA to build a Luka team. We know this by now. Dallas has gone though different starting fives before they found good pieces who can just catch and shoot. Lakers will experience the same thing, compounded by Lebron's influence on the FO and having him pair Bronny with Luka for the future.

Lakers have 4 fewer losses and just beat NYK(on their home court) without AD...I like AD and Kyrie but that's definetly not a team to bet on...and Mavs have no control over their picks...this team has two years to win the tittle, though they're probably a first/second round exit...after that it's bottom of the league...bad trade, should have gotten that Suns(from Rockets) or Spurs picks and Just blow it up

I'd seriously like to know who made the call. A non baaketball mind like Dumont making a baketball related move would explain why things are like this. However, if it's a mix of financial and Luka's long term prognosis then who knows. Maybe he's not willing to lock in $350M in a product that he has no faith in.

Nico came out and said the rationale for the trade is he wanted a two way star as opposed to one only playing one side of the court. Fair point. It's a risk that could or would not pay off.

Of course we do not know if this is the PR answer and if there was something brewing in the background.

They must have promised something very big to Nico if he exposes himself by saying this load of bull...

Yeah. Nico is an employee. His marching orders were made by someone higher. He will follow what his boss says. Most likely a PR answer.

However the biggest problem is not Luka traded, i'm ok with it if there is a plan behind the scenes.

But trade him for a 31yo injury prone a 1 FRP is completely absurd. This is the problem.
They screwed the franchise.

Actually even if it's what he really believed, his honest basketball assessment, why would he say it publicly?

He's throwing Luka under the bus.

Just say the team wants to move in a different direction.

That's the point, he led us to the best PO run after 2011... And we dump him 6months later? Really?

It's not a clear trade. Something is missing.

Yeah there is something behind the scenes that we are not privy to.

Feels like this one was done in bad taste.

So exactly are the Mavs assets now?

3 FRP’s and AD? It seems like that would bring back a pretty good player in a trade.

The biggest flex Luka can do right now is get in shape(learn from LeBron how to take care of your body) and destroy the Mavs everytime they meet...that would have been the biggest F U to the People who made this decision

Btw, I'm not really sure how the Players, especially Kyrie, feel about this trade...Luka and Kyrie were tight, even hung out with their families....and Klay came because of Luka(his passing) ...Gafford had an offer to Play for slovenian National team...Lively was a huge fan of Luka

Could the conspiracy theory that the owners want to relocate to Vegas be true?? I doubt it,Mavs a history and Dallas is a big market....but they did screw this teams future

It's Adleson and Dumont.

This feels like a concession for something else.
