Lol, the Lakers management: when us fans were recently asking for a backup playmaker and a backup 5, we didn't expect you overdelivering so massively in the first case!
As to Mavs fans, they really should not complain: after all, they've got 2 starters for the price of one!
As to Anthony Davis, I wish him all the best in all his future endavours (with the exception of playing the Lakers

). Some day your Lakers jersey will hang from the rafters for sure!
As to the trade itself, it is of course a huge overall success for the Lakers. Though not as to winning now, at least not without additional roster changes (a big better than Kleber or Koloko, anyone?). On the other hand, it is a tacit admission that LeBron-AD core outlived its usefulness as to real title contention. Not without a perfect collection of role players around them and/or this elusive real 3rd star we've been unsuccessfully searching for years. But the Lakers assets would suffice only for another decent/good trade like the recent one for DFS - and that would be not even remotely enough.
So why not swing for the fences? We should still be at least in the 1st round of playoffs this year, while focusing further GM actions on retooling and preparing for Luka-centric era. I've always loved him as a player anyway. Just work on your conditioning, kid, and you will be the next in Pantheon of the Lakers all-time greats!
Plus there is a possibility of LeBron taking a paycut for Luka, as it was mentioned last year in case we've got this 3rd star in the meantime. And that would
really help with our future moves...
And what a two-man game we can expect from some of the most versatile players of all-time in LBJ and Luka: absolutely amazing! On the other hand, there is always some risk involved with assembling two dominant playmakers. But I reckon they should fit next to each other not worse than LBJ and Wade in the past. From the perspective of scoring and picking their spots on the floor, probably even better, considering LeBron has now more range than he used to have, while Luka has more range than Wade ever had.
P.S. I love the meltdown from anti-Lakers and anti-LBJ haters: keep it up, guys, since it only makes the whole thing even sweeter!
