To be fair, Max Christie and the Lakers 2029 FRP are okay side pieces for the Mavs. It's not as lop sided as it may seem at first glance, it's just the shock out of it happening from nowhere

It is literally one of the worst trades I've ever seen in any sport and Max Christie and a Lakers late 1st rounder sure as hell won't change that.

The imbalance to me is the difference in ages. Doncic is 25 and Davis is 31. If they were the same age, it would be a fair trade. Seems like the Mavs GM didn’t press this point.

People complain when Lakers get Doncic for AD, but when Raptors got Kawhi for DD everything was fine. Lakers get screwed from time to time.

The Raptors got an injury-prone Kawhi for one season. He already made it clear he was going to an LA team the following season, hence the lukewarm trade market reception (Kawhi, unlike Luka, was shopped).

And even then, the Raptors traded DeRozan, Poeltl (the #9 pick from the 2016 draft), and a FRP.

Yeah he was shopped but they got a worse deal. Luka has been injured a lot this year too, which looks like the reason for the deal.

Maybe if they shopped him around Luka would start threatening with not resigning.

Yup, was telling my dad if they traded current bron and ad plus a boatload of picks I think it would be fair enough for LA. This was just highway robbery.

AD is awesome but to just get one FRP is insanity at his age.
