This is NOTHING like that Pau trade cause the Lakers gave up basically NOTHING for him. AD is like 5x better than Gasol at his best.

5x better? I dunno about that. He's maybe 20% better at best. And when you factor in his attendance record (although he's been good the last couple years...I'll give him that) It's prob a almost a wash. Yeah....AD is better. I won't argue that. But he's not much better.

Hope AD gets a fair shot in Dallas. I know Luca was "Dirk 2.0" to alot of Dallas fans. I like AD, despite what people might think. I hope he doesn't get the fans ire for this.

AD would own Pau one on one. Without Kobe, Pau is almost useless who can't even get nominated for 3rd team in the all defensive club but all you care are all star voting Lol

AD 5x is being generous as he is a generational talent for a big man.

huh...thats funny.....I don't think AD sniffed playoff action until he teamed up with Lebron. Meanwhile Pau was leading his team to several playoff runs without Kobe. So that doesn't add up does it?

Today is a very sad day for me, I hate you for manipulating the league in this way... although I congratulate you as fans, because you are going to enjoy Luka... now I think the next move should be Claxton... it would fit like a glove with Luka

They stole our two best defenders. We get a Luka who doesn’t play defense, and not even Lively?

I’m pissed.

Unless LBJ is traded for Wenby tomorrow, AD wins a ring in Dallas before us.

Dallas did it because defense wins championships and because of how much they hate Luka’ whining and bitching.

Luka is my least favorite player in the league. On to a different sport. This will take a decade.

Linda Rambis and Jeannie, what are you going to say when LBJ asks out?

Rob? No balls left?

Are there trolls here when we’re bleeding, or am I smelling something else that’s foul?

Oh, maybe it’s the Lakers’ championships hopes rotting after trading away the best defensive big man in the game, for Luka!?!?

Trolls, not now.

What ? Why do we trade away our best player ? I don't see how this improves the Lakers.
Now we lose a ton of defense and have no rim protection :nonono:

california, especially la, is the crown of america...la needs to be shining and glowing, america has its hands on the dodgers too and are making them glow and shine

reminder this is not a trade, you go to all 29 teams and ask for best offers in trades, but here they just went to lakers and no other team so this is an offering...doncic was offered and given to la, not traded

the offering isn't about basketball or sports, its political, its good for america and america is above the nba and sports

Did anybody really think Luka wouldn't end up in LA one day? :dontknow:

Maybe JJ knew what he was doing at the presser after the Philly game. He wasn't asked how Bronny played, just his decision on playing him. LeBron will lift the no trade clause if Bronny is part of any deal with him :D

Bill Simmons going crazy is quite enjoyable. Especially after he just dropped his trade value rankings episode a week prior.

I'm rooting for Luka to stay healthy, and hopefully LeBron and his methods will help him to the next level. He really did reach top 2-3 status and a finals not being in a very good shape. If I "know" him, this will lit a fire under his behind that might never get extinguished. Not gonna become a Laker fan, but will remain a Luka fan, and I hope he makes sure Nico will never forget this day, and not in a good way.

Could be. Personally I would prefer Kessler as he's younger and more physical and just overall better defensively imo (Knecht + Unprotected 31 1st + Swap if the Jazz comply?) but I'd be happy with either.

You got Doncic, aim higher,
might as well call and ask for Wemby.
But seriously though, they dont win if they dont get a good Center.
What’s the most reasonable price to get Poeltl?
Clint Capella?

I mean...you got Butler...you got Harden demanding a trade every 2-3 years. Didn't Paul George just walk off his team after earning $150 million, and playing all of 25 games? So I don't know. Durant walked away from OKC....and then walked away from GS. AD demanded a trade from NO. Didn't both Shaq and Dwight demand trades from Orlando? Our own beloved Kobe wanted to go play for Pluto....before he was talked off the ledge. Garnett from the Wolves, Marberry from the Wolves, Ben Simmons and his 'mental issues' with the 6ers....I feel like I could do this all day.

Durant says: "This is insane. So yeah, every other team might get confidence and say f it, I'll trade a few of my top players if this ain't working."

Well yeah! Your getting paid north of 40million dollars, for Christs sake. You make more in a month, than some poor roofer working in Van Nuys is gonna make his entire life. Your getting paid like that to make things happen.....to make the impossible the reality. Not because it's your "station" in life....give me a break.

I just hate it when these guys living the absolute fantasy life, piss and moan about some perceived 'hardship'. And for what it's worth...I'm not sure Durant should be the one speaking out on this.

*note* Totally fine with these guys living the fantasy life (well most of them)....I'm not going down the socialist road or nothing. I know alot of these guys train and train and train and train and train. I get it. Just don't piss and whine about the one or two things that aren't absolutely PERFECT......people get 'downsized', or straight up fired all the time. They get relocated, and all that good stuff. Durant's just a sulky b*ch...has been for years. No offense to the people that like him.

My fellow Lakers fans, please let me share here my post from GB about the whole situation as per below.

Lol, the Lakers management: when us fans were recently asking for a backup playmaker and a backup 5, we didn't expect you overdelivering so massively in the first case! :P

As to Mavs fans, they really should not complain: after all, they've got 2 starters for the price of one!

As to Anthony Davis, I wish him all the best in all his future endavours (with the exception of playing the Lakers :P). Some day your Lakers jersey will hang from the rafters for sure!

As to the trade itself, it is of course a huge overall success for the Lakers. Though not as to winning now, at least not without additional roster changes (a big better than Kleber or Koloko, anyone?). On the other hand, it is a tacit admission that LeBron-AD core outlived its usefulness as to real title contention. Not without a perfect collection of role players around them and/or this elusive real 3rd star we've been unsuccessfully searching for years. But the Lakers assets would suffice only for another decent/good trade like the recent one for DFS - and that would be not even remotely enough.

So why not swing for the fences? We should still be at least in the 1st round of playoffs this year, while focusing further GM actions on retooling and preparing for Luka-centric era. I've always loved him as a player anyway. Just work on your conditioning, kid, and you will be the next in Pantheon of the Lakers all-time greats! 8-)

Plus there is a possibility of LeBron taking a paycut for Luka, as it was mentioned last year in case we've got this 3rd star in the meantime. And that would really help with our future moves...

And what a two-man game we can expect from some of the most versatile players of all-time in LBJ and Luka: absolutely amazing! On the other hand, there is always some risk involved with assembling two dominant playmakers. But I reckon they should fit next to each other not worse than LBJ and Wade in the past. From the perspective of scoring and picking their spots on the floor, probably even better, considering LeBron has now more range than he used to have, while Luka has more range than Wade ever had.

P.S. I love the meltdown from anti-Lakers and anti-LBJ haters: keep it up, guys, since it only makes the whole thing even sweeter! 8-)
