I swear the Mavs are the most dumb franchise in recent history. Even worse than ours. They just got luckily for holding onto Dirk. They wanted to part ways with him at some point. Since noone met their asking price, they were forced to keep him. And after completely **** the Brunson situation they somehow get Kirie for almost nothing.

This will be interesting. With the way things are going for for the Mavs, I wouldn't be surprised if Luka has a career ending injury. But then again, it's the Lakers. They always get bailed out by some sort of cosmic powers.

As great as Kyrie is, imagine having Kyrie and Luka and deciding to build your future around crazy ass Kyrie. Wild. He'll be leaving there any second over something, like discovering the earth is round, or something. Or suddenly coming to the realization that Texas is chock full of racists.

I am sure multiple other teams could have probably given a better offer

For instance KAT over a much older injury prone AD?

Then you play Mitch at the 1. And thats just us.

Honestly, Dallas could have gotten back 7-8 picks back for him, ALONG with Nba ready talent to help them stay competitive. It’s just complete malpractice by their GM to not even have a bidding war for him. They can justify it all they want by stating they were worried about his conditioning and all. Well guess what, that chubby **** lead you to the finals last year and is a perineal all NBA 1st team talent.

Its totally insane he got traded for AD. Ad is a good player but hes on the verge of being on the downside of his career.

Luka is a generational talent, he could have netted you so much more.

Lakers got Luka for one 1st round pick.

Can't wait until the Knicks trade Mitch and their 2031 and 2035 1st round picks for Isiah Stewart.

Just crazy how we traded 5 first rounders for Mikal. We prob could of made a more competitive offer to dallas with those picks

The ancillary effects of the Mikal trade are so significant. It’s all the trade flexibility for the rest of Brunson’s prime. We haven’t even felt it yet.

Combine that with maxing out OG and being so close to the 2nd apron and that’s why there are fans like me who really dislike the position this franchise put themselves in

Even if this team is very fun to watch in the regular season.

Lots of teams could have put together a better offer than what the Lakers put out there. It’s clear the Mavs were focused on AD and the Lakers deal for some reason. Harrison and Pelinka are buddies and shockingly, the Mavs didn’t make this public or at least private within NBA circles. The Bridges trade was fine. No impact players given up with only middling picks going out. This Luka trade is absolutely insane. Mavs could have had the entire league bidding on Luka.

This trade is so lopsided I’m curious what impact it is/will be having on all other teams in trade discussions with only a few days left before the deadline. I mean how can teams discuss fair value now after yesterday

However, after this Luka trade one thing we all know is EVERY player can be moved..i’m not saying this season, but maybe the knicks trade OG for a different superstar next season etc..you seriously never know..to say a team is locked is just not true, what you are implying is the knicks are in a tough spot to keep this core and then add another star. Which is true, but who knows maybe they trade KAT in year..

Let’s just say Mavs wanted AD, ok, but by setting up a bargaining war, it would have forced the lakers to give up more, lakers should have had to given up AD, Reaves, christie and 2 first rounders and even then people would have still called it an uneven trade

There was nothing we could’ve offered Dallas for Luka, with or without picks. They just wanted AD.

We’re playing .667 winning basketball while steadily improving throughout the season and now you want to trade OG in some kind of cockamamie trade for some loser.

They traded AD and one FRP for Luka. AD himself is worth several FRPs.

40 Million for a guy who'll only play 60% of the games in any season

Well... it's AD for Luka. Basically Mavs feel that the difference between AD and Luka is only 1 FRP which is dumb. Based on age, talent level, injuries.. 2 FRPs, Austin Reeves and Dalton would've been fair
