What Would The Raptors Trade For Luka If Possible?

Personally, I'd drive Barnes, IQ and whatever else to the airport lol. Trying to understand what would be your max offer if Luka was being auctioned off.

I think its stupid for them to trade Luka but it looks like they foolishly wanted a great player back to compete. In that case AD was the best they could have got. KD would be next but he is much older.

AD is a top 10 player and Barnes is not a top 30 player nor does he have the ceiling of current AD. Dallas clearly didn't want to rebuild or they would have got much better from OKC/Orlando or even Flagg+ picks in the offseason.

So, no there was no way to have got Luka. hypothetically you offer everything.

Looking at the rationale from Dallas.

AD is a more win-now move than anything we can offer. So I don't think it would have been possible.

If they were looking for something more long term, I think it would have been anything of value:
Scottie
Gradey
Ja'Kobe
Desirable salary filler (Boucher, Brown, whoever they prefer).
Our unprotected 2025 first rounder, + more (the Pacers 1st, maybe a pick swap and some 2nds).

I don't think IQ, Barrett, Poeltl really help what they have and have salary implications that don't make them particularly desirable for Dallas.

I don't think we had the player they want....They still want to compete for the title....They legit think (Even if its an out of touch take) They think AD is a better fit next to Kyrie to compete for the title....They offered them Luka for AD which means they wanted a certain player....Mavs could have went to any team in the league with a Luka offer and got w/e they wanted....What was the dumb part is they should of got both the 1st rounders from the Lakers and also one of Reaves/Dalton....But yeah idk they obv wanted AD which we could not offer so...

We'd need to give something close to equal value for a top 3 player in the league. You'd have to give up Barnes + Player and at least 2 FRPs or pick swaps.

AD, Max Christi + 1st.

Thats what Dallas wanted. We dont have that. Not matter what we would give up, nothing of it would satisfy them.
They specifcly went to the Lakers for AD. They clearly didnt care for a haul, only the player.

Everything would be on the table for Luka. You get a chance for an MVP-level talent not even at his peak yet and you get him then figure the rest out after lol.

don't think it's even possible.....only teams with top 10 players would have a chance. Giannis, Ant are the type of players you would have to give up.

For a player like Luka, Dallas could have had whatever they wanted. He's only 25. Any possible trade that complies with NBA rules would have been worth it for us. We couldn't have got Luka, though, because Dallas wanted a win now MVP level big. They think Anthony Davis is that, and specifically targeted him.
