I have long felt like the supermax actually hurts most NBA teams. Even bird rights. Obviously any MVP with 100s of millions in ad and sponsorship revenues is going to give 2 ****s staying put for an extra $30M over 5y if the alternative is going to Hollywood or Miami.

Might need to start attaching ownership stake to these superstar contracts.

Doncic is injured, fat , allegedly an alcoholic ,and possibly might not love basketball . Maybe it's time to stop putting him on a pedestal .

Luka for his career averages 28/9/8... If true... Let him to continue to not love the game.

I don't see how Lakers defense holds up long term without Davis. Doncic and James and Reaves are all awful defenders. Lots of whining to refs and not getting back on defense incoming.

ESPN said that he was up for a $343 million deal and they thought his lack of conditioning led to too many injuries.

AD/Kyrie pairing seems like a better fit for winning. They may have enough assets to bring in a 3rd star to balance out the roster. They can probably turn Gafford or Lively/Washington/Pick(s)/Thompson/young guys into someone good...Zach?

Mavs will need one more trade for contending,Zach would be very useful for them.I'm not sure if that would be a good trade for the Bulls.

What about Butler to Dallas? I'm not sure if the numbers/assets could be worked out...?

You know you can be all those things and be great at basketball too. That guy is great at basketball and 25. This is so weird dude. You know it is. Everyone knows it’s weird and makes no sense. You don’t need to argue the other side, we can all just agree “wtf just happened”. Like, if he was available to the bulls, you wouldn’t want to give up everything on the team to trade for him? Of course you would. This is Pau Gasol 2.0.

He is great at his job. He will work for the Lakers within the next two years.

Vuc to the Lakers seems far more possible now, no? The Lakers have to get a big man.

But not another defensive blackhole.. they already look like one of worst D teams in league.

You are right about everything, except that he doesn't love basketball, he does, he loves it.

I hope this is a wake up call for him and he finally gets in shape and starts playing some D.

I think we will have at least 2 more trades coming for Lakers in next days. They need defenders badly around Luka, LeBron and Reaves.

Short term this is a good fit trade for Dallas, their starting lineup with Irving, Thompson, Washington, Davis and Lively will be good.
Bench mob with Hardy, Grimes, Dinwiddie, Christie, Marshall, Powell, Gafford, also pretty solid.
I would maybe even start Christie for Washington..

He also led the Mavs to the Finals 8 months ago.

And also, even if all of the bad rumors about him are true, only talking to one team (or maybe two teams) is unacceptable.

I get that but to then turn around and trade for probably the most often injured star player of his generation is asinine while not even opening up the bidding.

That's nuts and this is definitely veto worthy

It's GM malpractice tbh

So dumb. HE TOOK HIS TEAM TO THE FINALS 7 MONTHS AGO. Hes a top 5 player in the league. Its blasphemy to think hes not worthy of being on a pedestal. Hes earned that. He averaged 33.9 points per game with 9.8 ast and 9.2 boards over a full season last year at the age of 24….

Btw hes been returned to clear from injury by Feb 8th. So youre saying hes fat, alcoholic, and doesnt love basketball. Jokic is also kinda fat and doesnt love basketball. Were not questioning him.

Btw “Cocktails with 2 short” is accusing a guy of being an alcoholic LMAO

Why would they have to trade half their team? Salary matching purposes? Im not sure how much value Butler has
