What triggered this post? Genuinely curious.

Been saying it all year. Holiday is a shell of a player he was even last year and is due over $100 million for the next 3 years after this one.

Do you perceive him as significantly worse than last year? In a way that he couldn't amp up his game in the playoffs? I'm not there at all. Also not nearly as worried about the salary number against a rising cap. It's a fair enough argument that he could hit the wall hard here but I'm inclined to keep him one more playoffs at least.

DAL could actually use him. I maintain Jrue has real value though.

BOS: Gafford, Gary Harris, Cory Joseph, DAL 25 1st, BOS 25 2nd back
DAL: Jrue, Queta, Tillman
ORL: Klay, BOS 25 1st

Gets us under the 2nd apron and fulfills my dream to land Cory Joesph.
I don't do it for basketball reasons. But, if new prospective owners are saying cut $, that's pretty solid.

It took a single protected first round pick to get rid of Westbrook when his contract was considered the worst in the NBA. Suggesting that it would take two to get any contract of the books let alone a proven winner and all time teammate like Jrue Holiday is not grounded in reality.

- C's stand pat and don't make any moves at the deadline.
- They go back to back for banner #20
- New owners say slash payroll but stay competitive.

2025 Luxury tax threshold projection is 188mil

2nd apron is projected to be 208mil

C's have 223mil locked in for 10 players for 25/26 season

If the new owners say the dynasty label is nice but paying taxes is bad then a bunch of little moves without touching the starting core is the way I would go. Get younger through the draft hoping to find that diamond or two the next couple of drafts.

Pritchard can definitely get you picks and a cheap role player
Sam can definitely get you picks plus a cheap role player
XMan may get you a 2033 2nd

Those 3 cut 20mil to get to 203mil

Add Rico to the chop and it's down to 200mil

8mil below the 2nd apron with 8 players. They can find players to fill in 7.9 mil to stay under the 2nd apron.

I would trade Rico which can bring the payroll down. He is gonna make 2.6 mil next year and HE IS NOT WORTH 2.6mil IMHO
Gotta make a tough decision with Walsh because he's a team option
Gotta get Drew and Anton ready to play big parts next year
Is 4mil x2 worth it for AL ? I did once, but not worth it IMO

JT-JB-Jrue-White-KP-Neems-Drew-Anton-Fill in the blanks for the other 6 players

Have to draft good this year

I know Jrue is the contract everyone wants to move, but adding picks to move him isn't the way to go.

They're gonna be in the luxury tax penalty again but

does that work cap wise for Dallas? They are hard capped at the second apron

Thankfully they're not anywhere near the repeater tax yet, but that needs to be avoided at all costs.

Just insane that Luka ends up with the Lakers.

What team is now going to gift LA a center, so they can beat OKC in the west?

Smh. The NBA is corrupt.

Trading a Top 5 player and you only talk to one team, the Lakers. Nico on the Lakers payroll? All Adam Silver can think about is what dumbass idea he can come up with to turn the NBA into a carnival.

Still not buying that trading Luka without starting a Bidding war was better Idea. But even if you buy the "Dallas really targeted Anthony Davis" as the player they wanted. Dallas should have easily been able to get either Austin Reaves and another 1st (2031) as well.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Sounds almost illegal to do this. Targeting one Team? -- An Unfair Advantage.
A Bidding War would benefit the NBA more, right?

Not another GM in the league would trade a Top 5 player and only talk to one team. Corruption!
