PJ Washington for Grayson Allen

PJ Washington for Grayson Allen

Both teams rebalance their rosters. The Mavericks have AD at PF, so Washington is moveable. The Suns have a glut at guard and could use some front-court depth.

Phoenix owes value and I'm not sure Allen as a guy who stands out for Dallas. They have Thompson, Grimes, Hardy, and Marshall. They'd be smarter to invest a bit more and land an upgrade. Allen just isn't

There is a huge gap in man value...PJ plays in a more valuable position, he is bigger, younger, a better defender...he is not close

It's fair to disagree with what the Mavs G.M. did. It's fair to even believe it was dumb. But, if the rationale for the trade, be implicit or explicit, is that he'll keep on doing dumb stuff, the proposal isn't going to get very far.

Could Dallas get one of the Suns firsts in this deal?

Idk why I think Lively + Klay is the next deal. You can target a really good forward with that package.

Washington/AD/Gafford cover the big minutes. New SF + Naji and you've got 3-5 covered.

Brooklyn with Claxton (Lakers) and Cam (Mavericks) makes sense as a 3rd team in the Luka deal.

Combine my 2 deals...

Grayson Allen, Dwight Powell, Dante Exum, '25 Mavs 1st and one of the Suns 3 1sts to Brooklyn
PJ Washington to Phoenix
Cam Johnson to Dallas

Mavs keep the '29 Lakers 1st

I think at least one of the picks from Utah needs to be included. If it is a part of a broader rebalancing of the roster where AD is a full time 4, I can see it.

I mean the Mavs probably could've gotten at least a half a dozen firsts for Luka, but they took the best win-now piece instead.

This is actually a good deal if Dallas wants Johnson.

Repeat thread from the summer. I’m not trading Allen for PJ, definitely not throwing in a first.

Phoenix would be all over this. Grayson is not better than Washington so they’d have to add a late first round pick. Washington would be highly impactful in Phoenix allowing KD to go back to the SF position.

Dallas becomes way better balanced and picks up a first round pick. Ironically Grayson Allen would fill the role for them that Klay Thompson was meant to fill, only better. Grayson highly efficient floor spacer with decent defense

It balances both rosters. If it’s only the 2025 1st, Suns would be foolish not to do this. PJ is what we need so bad. That bum Beal & Royce just are going to have to start making some 3s & scoring more.

I think these are similar level players, but for both rosters PJ is a bigger need so I'd be surprised if Dallas would swap them like this.

I would trade Okoro and Niang or Lavert for Washington +filler if necessary from Cleveland’s perspective. Not sure if they would have more value than Allen from Dallas view.

Allen isnt the type of guard Dallas needs. PJ is a much better piece for a team trying to win and a more unique player with his defemsive versatility, so this is a bad deal. Fit wise, even worse. They need a 2ndary ball handler beside Kyrie now that Luka is gone, not a guy who's gonna sit in the corner
