Lebron was shocked and not told about it

That's old news. Aside from LeBron's tweet shutting down CBS sports, I don't think any one of them has said anything publicly.

Ladies and Gentlemen let's get this post trending on social media. Let's make this guy a legend for spilling the truth behind all of this madness.

Thanks kind sir this is what we all suspected because this clearly has ownership written all over it. No owner is trading Luka especially when he didn't demand out.

Well that confirms it. This trade is beyond awful and was done out of just a crazy amount of incompetence.

Best way to know this, when Perk agrees, you know it’s bad.

Yeah everyone can be traded. Curry can end up with the Hornets next week for LaMelo Ball.

That was 5 years ago.

It's less than 24h and I still refuse to belive Mavs knowingly walked into 2-3 years window at best, sold off top-5 mvp candidate who is about to enter his prime all while not having any control over their own picks from 2027-30. This is insane.

I'm keeping my tinfoil hat on for this one, there is no legitimate basketball reason for this trade. Nico fumbled his press conference, while Kidd was sitting right next to him with thousand-yard stare.

Collusion, Silver did it, Adelsons did it to move the team, Klutch did it, Luka just murdered a guy and police will get caught up on it in about 2 weeks - all that sounds more plausable than NBA GM somehow reaching a conclusion that this is sound basketball move.

This deal stinks to high heaven. I support any Mavs fan canceling subscriptions, bailing on the team etc. NBA jumped the shark even allowing this obviously corrupt trade to go through.

Nike once employed GM of player that gets stolen and has Nike contract. Sent to LAK huge market also important for Nike merch etc.

Snakey Snake Snake. What a BS league. The attempt of this trade should have had the NBA calling the Adelson family asking if they are aware of the massive risks this has for their team and value.

Wait. By "future" he means "3-4 years from now, not 10 years from now... They'll probably bury me and J by then."

What. In. The. Actual. ****?!

LAL just got their next 7 years or so set. You absolutely plan in 1 3 5 10 year phases anticipating league/cap/availability of other players/draft changes that affect building around your star.

Absolutely no sensical answer.

And wtf was that 'bury us' comment...

That dude has been promised something….

It’s a wild trade, for sure. But why are we blaming the GM? He doesn’t own the team. He’s simply doing what he’s told to do. This is what the owner’s wanted. It couldn’t have happened if they didn’t agree to it.

I don’t doubt he was told to trade Luka. However why would you not seek other trade partners to max return and pit the Lakers against other teams to up the return? Why would you discuss with only one team and then only get one draft pick back? Why does that excuse not extracting more assets in return? Clearly did a favor for his mentor with a future favor in return.

The more I think about this I don’t hate Luka for AD for the Mavs. I think the team could be more balanced and better in some aspect at least for 2-3 years. Getting away from that supermax had to be part of logic. All that said the value was off. Mavs needed at least one, maybe 2 additional firsts imo.
