A couple times ITT so far I think I’ve said Dallas is responsible for dumping Klay.. Miami ends up with GSW protected first and Dallas. GSW probably lottery protected cause it can roll over, Dallas probably top 8 because it can’t?

Miami ends up with a really ugly player package, yes. But it would be 2 year contracts (ugly like Maxi, Vincent, Anderson, Buddy or something..) but two firsts that likely convey around the teens this season so good value overall..

And I’m still saying Miami/GSW can do better than Dallas. Just that GSW is the best value available for Butler. So probably should be trying to make it work..

But according to this forum it costs a 1st to dump klay(personally dont agree) and mavs only got 1. So either miami get klay and a 1st and figure it out themselves, or mavs deal klay with the 1st and miami get what comes out of that. Also dont really see mavs dealing omax now when he finally started to settle into nba and grimes is what people on these boards demands 1st for youneverknowwhatyougetwiggins.

I don’t think it costs a first to dump Klay, especially since Miami is willing to take on a two year deal.

I imagine LAL adds a second to turn Vincent+JHS+wood or Reddish into Klay honestly.

Imagine Phoenix does Nurk for Klay…

Not sure how many more examples there are but probably some. And that’s not even including the Philly 2nd that Dallas would add.

Grimes.. I would love to trade Klay and keep Grimes.

But I don’t think the Venetian group will spend like we all were spoiled with. So if you’re adding Wiggins, it likely means Grimes isn’t kept anyways.

If mavs gonna eat multiyear bad contracts im definetly out. Rather keep klay and our depth then overpaying for wiggins. Im sure this team when healthy can go to the finals again

Edit: the names listed in the OP are expendable* the four starters should not be available for Wiggins.

Looks like my edit was not needed..

But bumping this because…

PJ seems to make a lot more sense as a trade candidate now and seems like a piece Miami would really value..

And Wiggins makes just as much sense in Dallas as he did yesterday..

Feels like Dallas’ Wiggins offer could be a lot better for Miami now?

No reason to. Dont think mavs want money on the books when they tear it down and relocate. Mavs is dead. Just sell whatever of value and turn into Las vegas wizards

Mavs aren’t moving to Vegas. Vegas is a lock for an expansion team.

Fee for the owners of an expansion franchise to get into the NBA is in the billions-and all the other owners get a cut.

No way the other 29 owners lose out on that money so 1 owner can move a team. They’d vote down the move.

Agreed. Of course, the money is always going to be tricky to work out and it keeps ending up as Golden State doing a 4 for 1.

Golden State trades
Wiggins
Schroeder
Payton
Santos

Receives
Butler

Dallas trades
Gafford
Washington

Receives
Wiggins

Golden State trades
Wiggins
Payton
Schroeder
Santos

But I can't add any other salary to either team.

Edit:

I also don't like this for Dallas. I don't think they should give up both Gafford and Washington but it was the easiest way to get there, salary wise

I think instead of Santos, you make it Anderson or Looney and then GSW can take back some vet mins and solve that problem?

I don’t know what Dallas will do. At all. Obviously.

But I’d assume they’d pay a lot to keep Gafford as AD wants to play with a decent center most of his minutes? Add value and find the fourth team for Klay…. But maybe you can go back to tying in that Looney/Grimes swap which could buy Dallas time until Lively gets back?

Dallas: Powell, PJ, Gafford, Grimes
Dallas: Looney, Wiggins

Leaves Dallas enough room for a vet min and a rest of season contract?

GSW: Looney, Anderson, Buddy, Wiggins, Payton
GSW: Butler, Grimes, Alec, Love

Leaves GSW enough room for a rest of season contract.

If you dump Payton using someone’s seconds on Washington/Toronto.. Miami is doing a 5 for 3 and can buy out Richardson?

Miami only trims 4 million this year but meh.

Don’t really see Dallas paying a first on top of Gafford, PJ and Grimes. But do see GSW still offering one..

Kyrie/Klay/Wiggins/AD/Lively
Dinwiddie/Christie/Naji/Prosper/Looney

It’s not a contender but it’s something.

I can't get that to work, either. Golden State keeps ending up over. I had to remove Anderson, put in Schroeder, and give them Pelle Larsson. Also has to include Hardy from Dallas.

So it's

Miami trades
Butler
Larsson

Receives
Gafford
Washington
Payton
Hardy

Dallas trades
Washington
Gafford
Hardy
Grimes

Receives
Wiggins
Looney

Golden State trades
Schroeder
Payton
Wiggins
Looney

Receives
Butler
Grimes
Larsson
