I feel you. That's why Eddie Curry and Stanley Roberts are on their way to the Hall of Fame.

Still blows my mind Chandler was the one to make it.

This is one of those Jokic isn't athletic enough takes, isn't it.

I've seen Luka drinking and smoking at the Olympics. This is what peak male performance looks like.

Ask the 2019 Celtics how having Kyrie as your main ballhandler works out.

I’ve thought about this more. It’s BY FAR the worst trade in NBA history

Dallas GM: “This is about winning now and in the future.” Yep, definitely going to be better to have AD for his age 34-37 seasons and the Lakers 2029 1st than Luka for his age 27-30 seasons.

Nico Harrison doesn't come off as credible at all in that presser. Talks about how Luka could turn down the extension and they wanted to avoid a tumultuous summer, but then walks that back by admitting that Luka never said he wasn't going to re-sign.

Dude, if Luka turns down the extension, you'll have a bidding war unlike anything we've ever seen for him. Yeah, that would be tumultuous, but that's your **** job.

I'm going a step farther and say it's the worst trade in any sport ever.

Like maybe the Watson trade but there's hindsight being used on that. You could make an argument for it at the time though.

Herchel Walker?... Could at least argue it made some sense at the time

The Ricky Williams trade is maybe close?...... It's about the only one i can think of

I like the Patrick Ewing frozen envelope
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Full strength Celtics down 17 at the half to the depleted Sixers I didn't see happening. They'll probably still win though

It's one of the shadiest deals I've ever seen, and requires investigation but that won't happen.

- Nico Harrison has been friends with Rob Pelinka for 20+ years dating back to his days as a Nike executive and Pelinka as Kobe's agent
- By his own admission, these discussions have been in the works for a month+ and the Lakers were the ONLY team he talked to, making zero effort to scan the league and find the best offer.
- In part because of the above, they didn't even get the Lakers' best offer, allowing the Lakers to keep Reaves, Knecht, and their '31 1st
- Also revealed Luka never demanded a trade or gave any indication he wouldn't re-sign in Dallas or that he wanted LA

Agreed...but I don't think Gasol was a top five player at the time of that trade

If Nico Harrison being a big dumb ass helped out the Charlotte Hornets I'd think totally fine, move on. But because it was the Lakers I pretty much believe anything.

This is what breaks my brain. Literally any of us on there, even folks that value Luka less, get a better deal. Easily.

How do the owners sign off on this?

i do think the return for luka is the nefarious element here.

i get why dallas could want to trade him and make AD the target as they are presently constructed. i think its the one pick and max christie thats the hold up. i get that and agree with it for the record. not getting the other pick and/or knecht or reeves is weird.

The Mavs spent the last couple years building their roster around Luka. They added a bunch of switchable bigs to protect against Luka's defensive liabilities on one end and give him a plethora of PNR rollers on the other.

I just don't think this makes a lot of sense for the Mavs from a short-term basketball perspective, either.

but look at when shaq was dealt from LA, dwight from orlando, barkley from the sixers..... theres been alot of weird deals in this league where a poo platter came back for a star in their prime. im not sure you ever get the right value when its a superstar from fans perspectives. more recently you see these deals where a **** ton of picks and swaps and stuff move but thats more recent. like what we gave up for jrue seems more than this just as sheer assets go. how many picks is AD worth right now? more than what we gave for jrue...about the same?

i think it all comes down to how they view AD. i think they really wanted AD and got fixated there perhaps

Yeah, it's like they didn't even try that hard to "hide" it. I don't know if it's Nico or someone above him making moves that aren't in the spirit of a fair and balanced NBA. I tend to think Nico is just some pawn in this and will be the fall guy. As of fan of the NBA I know semi-questionable stuff happens every 10 years or so, but this one is just so indefensible on its face that I'll lose more interest than I already have. I've been a die hard NBA fan for the last 35 years now. I love the Bucks and will cherish any small victories they have, but this is a big chess move attacking the intelligence of the fans that someone is hoping will pay off. All these reporters are so in the bag for the agents/gms at this point, it's hard to believe someone will uncover the true story. I do think the 10 year outlook of the NBA is different now, maybe it works out, but it seems like a short-sighted get some clicks now play.
