Why did the kings give up Fox for relatively little?

It's amazing that we've kept all the good picks and sent non-essential players to make salaries work in this deal. We still have all of the relevant assets open for any future trade should it present itself. A+ for Brian Wright tonight.

This trade honestly doesn't do much for me as a Kings fan. I think LaVine will fit well with Sabonis and the rest of the team, but we didn't really address any of our weaknesses with this trade. Our bench is still pretty bad. We still need a legit backup wing. Still need size and length to compliment Sabonis. Other than the 2031 Timberwolves pick, the picks are only first rounders in name.

I think the Kings should've held out for at least Sochan from the Spurs. I suppose they could still trade for someone like John Collins, but they would be struggling to get the salaries needed to do it.

The Spurs:
-Didn't trade Stephon Castle
-Didn't trade the Hawks picks
-Didn't trade the Kings pick swap in 2031
-Still got De'Aaron Fox for pennies on the dollar

R.C. Buford still got it.

At least you’ll have an entertaining, high scoring offense. I’m not sure how many stops you’ll be able to get though.

Come on.. once you have Wemby it is easy to build around him. Spurs have been in the lottery for how long plus they get a guy with generational talent in Wemby. It's almost too big too fail.

I'm going to really enjoy watching Spurs and Lakers the. rest of this season. Lebron/Luka is going to be interesting and now Wemby has veteran Chris Paul and now a guy putting up 25 plus points a night next to him. At this point Jokic is an underdog. OKC is on the rise with SGA and company. TWolves seem like an after thought after making the WCF last season. Western Conference is going to be interesting

Yeah, I suppose you're right about that. But, if we've learned anything recently from the grandmaster, Nico Harrison, it's that defense wins championships. Ben Simmons or even Al Horford should've been our guy.

Even though he's been pretty good this year, I've never been high on LaVine. The Kings have been enamored with him since he came into the league and tried to get him multiple different times, so it was only inevitable we ended up with him at some point.

Monte McNair is an absolute buffoon. He should have been fired before he could do more damage via a Fox trade but nope. Our owner is a clueless idiot and our franchise continues to be a laughingstock. You have to be seriously inept to be this poorly run. If Flagg gets drafted by the Wizards I will renounce my fandom and adopt them as my team going forward. I can't take it anymore. Enough is enough. This is just more proof that we and the other bottom 1/3 of the franchises are really just farm systems for the rest of this rigged league. We're here to develop stars only to lose them. We're here to absorb bad salaries and trade away draft picks. Or when we do pick, we're here to ensure great players fall to better run teams.

They are still a long way from that. They still have more pieces to acquire and Wemby to keep developing.

I’m a Bulls fan who isn’t the highest on Lavine either, but you also got 3 1st round picks and 3 2nd round picks.

The Charlotte 1st is protected top 14, next year it turns into 2 2nds, so really they got a 2027 1st SA, 2031 1st MN, and 5 2nd round picks

This can work for Sacramento if it results in Sabonis becoming even more of a facilitator. Just have to avoid DeMar slowing things down too much because that's what hurt LaVine's game in CHI.

Hearing you are getting LaVine John Collins 2 picks... Don't know who we are giving up but it's not 2025 picks

Spurs kept their 25s?! They cooked! lol Congrats...

SAS is gonna be in the top 4-5 in the West convo starting next year.

My bad about Collins. Was hearing info from an X Space real time, then RealGM crashed lol and I couldn't edit it. There may be a secondary deal yet for John Collins, I don't know.

But we knew most recently of wither two win now players or one with more picks. So in the end the latter was chosen by SAC.

So how much money will the Spurs have to build around Wemby and a resigned Fox?
