Knicks team looks like dogsh*t now compared to the upgrades Lakers and Spurs made. Oh well. Semi fun half season.

As a lifelong wemby fan I'm not super excited for this pairing. Fox is nice and it's not like they went all in on him. I'm just skeptical of fox on a max deal being a key piece on a championship team in this new cba.

This would be true if they traded anything of consequence to get him, but this may as well have been a free agent signing with space because their asset base is still loaded.

They got out of Zach Collins awful deal and didn't have to send out any young players

Yeah I get all that - theyre core is still intact and they have a lot of capital still. But it's still fox taking up a huge chunk of their cap space. Which could be used for a more efficient player who plays defense.

They have a generational player on a rookie deal for the next 3 seasons and with the way the Hawks season is going they could be right in the running for Flagg or Bailey this summer. Their capspace was never going to be used to actually sign anyone in free agency, everything for them was going to be done through the draft or trades. Look at who Giannis, Jokic and Curry in 22 have won titles with, Wemby is in that class of player, he's not going to need another top 10 player to help him win.

I thought they'd at least have to give up Vassell and a Hawks pick, but the Kings didn't get either while also taking back a bad contract. The Spurs are sitting pretty.

As per usual, Kings' fans relief is short lived.

I know, I know they got Lavine. Like we haven't seen him with DeRozan before. They even have their own Vuc!

And they still have Castle, Vassell, and Johnson. Which sounds like a law firm.

More than anything in this world, I can't stand boisterous uninformed or ungrounded opinion, coupled with the inability to accept information and grow. The relationship between the Mavs and Knicks over the past few years has catalyzed some of the worst examples of fan idiocy I've seen outside of the Red Sox / Yankees banter I grew up with.

As a Knicks fan that had to listen to a deluge of that Dallas stupidity ever since the KP deal, it's wonderfully cathartic to see the NBA Chupacabra drain the blood from the entire Mavericks organization and fanbase.

I'm still trying to find the Mavs poster who kept showing up here to defend letting Brunson go, even after his star turn. It was like MFFL76 or something. I'd like to bump quote him

Luka is generational talent. He is not James Harden, Russell Westbrook or Kawhi Leonard. These guys are currently way above him in all time greatness but his ceiling is top 15 all time. With the appropriate diet and the inevitable addition of 1 or more likely 2 other superstars he will bring multiple rings to LA. I just pray LeBron doesn't get any of them.

If Spurs really intend to build around this Fox-Wemby duo in the long term I will sleep better. None of these guys is a winner, hell, even CP3 is not a winner. Popovich will leave soon too.

I know this is completely biased. I will even prove myself wrong giving two examples - Bucks with Giannis and Middleton and Denver with Jokic and Jamal. No winning experience either. Yet they got it done. But there is just something that one can feel rather than see in the statistics.

If you look in Giannis' face and game, this animosity and the killer instinct, they've always been there. He is a monster, wants to kill you even in practice.

Jokic is completely cold blooded and doesn't show any emotions while cooking your ass. A silent killer.

I don't think Wemby is like that. He needs to be taught, like LeBron.

Adding additional stars or superstars to a Luka Doncic team is counterproductive. You don’t win a title that way.

Luka will never win a chip. He wasn’t going to win in Dallas and he won’t win in LA either.
