That’s not exactly accurate. You were right with the player side, but IIRC you said the Spurs would potentially give up 3 protected 1sts. They gave up the Charlotte 1st which was protected, the Spurs 27 unprotected, MIN 31 unprotected, then an unprotected 1st Bulls pick to CHI, then 3 additional 2nd rd picks on top of that.

The Bulls pick is protected, and the Charlotte 1st is a fake 1st. So the Spurs really gave up 3 firsts, as I predicted. The difference is the 1sts were even worse than I predicted, and the Spurs didn't even give up Keldon. I also don't know if that Spurs pick is unprotected. That detail may have come out, bit I haven't seen it. Either way, it's a pick likely to be in the 20s.

The 2nds I never discussed because I don't care about them. They barely matter.

Go back and read the demands being made from Kings fans, and even some neutral fans, for Castle, Vassell, the Hawks picks, etc.

The 2nds may not matter to you, but in terms of value in the trade market we have seen multiple 2nds packaged in deals. So they matter in the trade market. So if the Charlotte pick is a “fake 1st” it will be converted into two 2nds for a total of five 2nds. The MIN pick that you didn’t acknowledge is unprotected and was the pick the Spurs just gave up for their #8 pick in last years draft, all indications is that there are no protections on the Spurs pick. So the Kings got a total of 7 picks back.

I said the deal would be 3 of the Spurs 1sts, but not their best 1sts. That was on the money. I never spoke to the 2nds, so can hardly be said to be wrong about them.

Well what is your expectation for a return on Fox, especially when his agent is deflating his value by telling teams where he will and won't sign an extension.

I expect the return to be less than what Minnesota received for KAT but in the ball park. Good starter, low end starter and a 1st is what KAT returned.

Maybe the Jrue Holiday return? 2 low-end starters and 2 1sts.

Let’s not go with revisionist history because of the current level of play.

It was:

Randle - All Star starter on a good playoff team

DDV - good two way starter on a good playoff team

Pick

I think Randle is/was on a much better contract than LaVine, DDV is a 2nd starter Sacramento isn't receiving but Sacramento got 2 1sts (one the useless 2027 SAS 1st) but the other a high-variance 1st in 2031 and 3 2nds.

Shame Indiana couldn't work it's way into these deals with Bennedict.

Hoping we can be aggressive and add talent in the East. There is no Prime LeBron James on this side of the bracket which gives me hope for Hali/Pascal tearing through the East.

Charlotte 1st isn't a 1st. It's technically 2 2nds since it has 0% of conveying as a 1st, it is a 2nd by all value counts.
