Mavs/Bulls/NOP

Post#1 » by Astaluego » Mon Feb 3, 2025 9:58 am

MAVS
In:White/H.Jones
Out: Lively/Marshall/Hardy/Christie/MAVS 25/SRP 25(76ers)

Irving/SD
Klay/White/Exum
Herb/Grimes/K.Edwards
PJ/O-Max
AD/Gafford/Powell

Mavs consolidate, get some firepower with White and a DPOY-level defender
fill the places in the shopping market

NOP
In: Marshall/Lively
Out:Herb Jones

With this change they secure the central position for the next decade... Marshall gives them depth on the Wing with the loss of Jones and probably the loss of Ingram...he is young enough to be part of the core, it was already good for them

BULLS
In:Hardy/Christie/MAVS 25
Out:White

They continue with the sales, here you get 2 prospectuses and an FRP..White only has one year after this

These are pretty ideal targets for this new Mavs group honestly. Not sure how you can line the salaries up since Christie can’t be aggregated but I like the idea.

Assuming Herb will play this season…

I think Dallas more likely keeps Christie/Naji and loses our PJ here unfortunately. Needs a fourth team at that point, but add a bit more value to get Theis and Javonte Green back from NOP..

I cannot imagine the outrage from Mavs fans if Nico also trades Lively after trading Luka. There might be riots.

I do like both White and Herb though.

Out of all the guys the Pelicans have, Herb Jones is probably the favorite and seen as the “we riot” player amongst the fan base. That being said, yes, I think I would trade him for Lively, especially with Naji coming back too. It would be tough, it would hurt, but I would do it.

I mean isn't this a deal Dallas would only visit in the off-season at this point? Since Jones can't help this year? My interest in Jones was also a lot higher with Luka than with AD.

Agreed here. Herb’s labrum tear was January 10th, and I think you can expect a 6 month recovery. Makes sense for Dallas, but not for this year.

Yes the Bulls like getting another pick. Pay attention, they have too many guards to even play them all. They just traded 1 guard for 2, now you want to do the same 1 out, 2 in. What makes this even worse is both Christie and Hardy are signed for 2 more years. Before that the Bulls have to decide on what to do contract wise with Ball, Dosunmu, Giddey Jones and Huerter

No the don't want to have 8 guards on the roster. You've made a poorly thought out trade
