This is WAY WORSE.
Carter demanded a trade, had had bad injury issues and deliberately tanked his trade value, acted like an unprofessional prick.
Luka has been an MVP candidate every year, just led Dallas to the finals, and had no desire to leave.
Moreover, Luka is just way better than prime VC. I'd say prime VC is more similar to a Ja Morant whereas Luka would be more similar to Kobe, KG or Duncan.
Vince never tanked his trade value, it's a complete nonsense narrative from your side. You also ignoring Vince pulled back his trade request and he also got shipped out of Raptors against his own will by Rob Babcack. Any examples of what Vince did act like an unprofessional?
Luka is definitely a far superior player than Prime Vince without a doubt. But Mavs also got a way better return in Anthony Davis who's a borderline MVP level player. As of right now, Lakers have no centers and Mavs have a better squad for this year and next season.
Meanwhile, Rob Babcock didn't got anything of value in return for trading away Vince Carter (against his own will nonetheless). He is a big reason why Raptors set back for years until Masai Uriji came.
Okay there Vince homer.
Let's just pretend like he didn't come out and say that he didn't want to dunk anymore in his final days as a raptor.
;t
https://www.sportsnet.ca/basketball/nba/vc-dont-wanna-dunk-anymore/I'm rather a Vince homer than a bitter and completely ignorant hater to remember obvious facts.
Vince dunked in the very next game (Wizards on the road) after he said it. Hell, Vince made several dunks in practice just before that interview happened. Vince gave a sarcastic answer to a stupid question.
You should educate yourself of the circumstances during Vince's last Raptors season instead of blindly trust hit-pieces on VC.

Prime Vince was arguably Nets' best player as their 1st option. And Danny Granger was never good enough to fill out the vaccum Vince left at Raptors, given the fact he was just 1x All-Star.
Man, you are either trolling or just straight up never watched the NBA from 2000s. Your credibility is in the mud.
Obviously you are a VC stan, but even Mama Carter knew Kidd was the engine of that entire team. Was Vince still a very good player? Of course, but 2nd banana all the way. He was a 1st option like Siakam was a 1st option post-championship.
Jason Kidd was already past his prime after doing microfracture surgery and the Nets had 9-16 record (including 9 straight losses) by the time Vince got traded there. So much for being 'the engine of that entire team' lol.
It was an absolute miracle Nets even reached the playoffs as 8th seed, largely thanks to Vince.

Or that he later said he didn't try as hard as he could have in Toronto.
Or, you know, playing like ass on the court before the trade and suddenly looking good in NJ.
It was completely taken out of context, but I assume you never watched that interview. Vince basically said injuries & hardships taught him that he wasn't forever gonna be an amazing athlete. He realized that it require much more to be successful & stay in NBA on many, many years. (Spoiler alert: Vince became an Iron and played 22 NBA seasons).
Here's the full exchange...
John Thompson: "Do you think Vince Carter has pushed himself as hard as he should have pushed himself?"
Vince Carter: "In years past, no. I was just fortunate enough to have the talent. You know, you get spoiled when you're able to do a lot of things and you see that, and you really don't have to work at it. But now, I think with all the injuries and the things that have gone on, I have to work a little harder and I'm a little hungrier."

Yeah he never tanked his trade value, he just averaged career lows in every statistical category and then proceeded to average career highs in every statistical category with the Nets.

Vince was in a bad form during his final 20 games for Raptors. He still sucked ass even post Nets trade in the beginning.
