I still can't believe they made this deal.

Fine, you want to be out of the Luka business. I wouldn't trade a 25 year old who just made all nba 1st team 5x in a row, but I can see where they might want to move on. This is the offer you take? You don't shop him around? Please tell me they at least tried to call MIL for Giannis. Not saying MIL says yes, but tell me you did some form of due diligence.

Nico worked at Nike for about 20 years and was VP of NA Basketball Operations. If you think there's more to the story than what we're being told, well it's not hard to see that. Lebron retiring in the near future - NBA and Nike needing a new face - putting Luka in LA is going to generate a lot more money than him being in Dallas his entire career.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if DAL really had concerns about Luka. His games played history isn't the best for a young player. And unless he changes it will like get worse with more wear and tear with that amount of weight constantly running and jumping.

Now that Luka isn't eligible for the supermax. Couldn't Luka just jump up and sign with Dallas in 1.5 years?

This has got to be Art Modell levels of bad. It hasn't clicked for me yet. It feels surreal like when bron & bosh came down here...but worse.

I don't even know if its cowardice as much as just pure unfiltered unadulterated incompetence. Bro left and somehow found a way to walk directly in front of the only camera guy in the room, forcing him to move and shuffle around... He looks mentally impaired.

Such a horrible trade and will likely motivate Luka even more. Luka is better than AD, AND 6 years younger. WTF. If AD gets hurt (which he will at some point) this is just extra bad. Luka already led Dallas to the Finals last year and a WCF in another. And he has absolutely dominated in the playoffs. What more do they want?

Dallas better win a championship or this is going to go down as one of the worst trades of all time.

Did the ownership have absolutely no say here? I can't imagine any owner or ownership group signing off on this. I do understand that 350+ is a ridiculous amount of money and teams like Boston are going to have to breakup the roster soon so maybe this is a new thing in the NBA.

Just a generational fumble of historic proportion. Literally anyone here could have managed that Mavs roster better.

With this trade, how much do you think Nico got under the table from whatever sources?

Sounds like what Tom Brady was doing, the difference was he was in shape and leading them to championships.

ESPN gives the Mavs an "F" grade for this trade lol. And rightfully so.

It's already one the worst trades of all time and Dallas definitely isn't winning a Championship with this roster. Nico Morrison just sabotaged the entire organization and their future (which he won't be around for anyways) to help his best friend Rob Pelinka and the Lakers out as well as Adam Silver and the NBA.

This is so weird.

I went to Nico's twitter and he re-posted this last year, talking about how good Luka was on D.

Picking Dallas as the top team in the west is insane.
Has Stephen A watched AD? He can’t create his own shot. They already had good enough rim protection. They didn’t have perimeter D.

Well Stephen A is a big Trumper now so I'm not surprised.
