CHA-NOP-CHI - Zion/Ingram/Bridges/Lavine/Lonzo

Post#1 » by Rich4114 » Fri Jan 31, 2025 6:55 pm

Trying to figure out what value this would take and I'm basing this off NOLA wanting to move off of Zion + Ingram (Ingram because of his contract situation) and Charlotte looking to setup it's roster for next season. Chicago moves off Lavine for Ingram who they can either resign or let expire to gain cap flexibility as they enter a rebuild.

Here it goes:

Hornets acquire: Lonzo, Torrey Craig, Zion Williamson

Bulls acquire: Bridges, Josh Green, Micic (expiring), Ingram (expiring)

Pelicans acquire: Salaun, Lavine, Jevon Carter, Miami 2027 FRP lottery protected 2027, unprotected 2028

How does the value line up for each team? I'm obviously happy from a Hornets perspective (though some would disagree with going after Zion) but what about Chicago/NOLA?

You might be happy I don't think CHA is all that pleased, Lonzo expiring after maybe proving he's healthy. People need to stop acting like the brothers need to be on the same team to be close, their brothers that's close. You would rather have Zion than Bridges, I think the opposite

NOP ends up with 3 very highly paid guards for at least next year, CJ, Murray and Lavine with Murphy on a good sized contract at the SF. and no real PF or C. I don't see that being any kind of plan

Bridges I like for the Bulls, Green is one of those, when is he going to get it? kind of kids. His high scoring year was 9.1PPG,even with Lavine and Lonzo gone not many minutes behind, Giddey, White, Dosunmu, THT, even Micic. What good is Ingram for one year? With Bridges and Williams signed, they need minutes for Buzelis not sitting behind the other 3 veterans

Bulls would be better off with Ball than Ingram but overall, this isn't great for anybody

Its like 3 unprotected 1st short. That miami pick is not enough to offset Lavine's contract.
If Pels want to get rid of Zion they can just cut him instead of taking that awful package.

Sounds like the Hornets reached out to the Pelicans about Zion. What would the Pels need from Charlotte for a Zion deal to make sense?

Hornets assets include a giant pile of second round picks, all of their own picks, Miami’s 1st in 27 and Dallas 1st in 27 (top 2 protected).

I’d imagine Bridges would be the bigger contract heading back and they can add guys like Cody Martin and Micic whose $17m combined are non guaranteed for next season.

Wait we reached out to the Pelicans about Zion.

Who reported this?

Nobody reported that.

We need to reach out about Ingram, like Raptors are doing.

He's been banging the table for Zion all season. But really I believe the better buy-low is Ingram.

I'd trade the Mavs 1st for him. Are the Pelicans going to secure better than a top-2 protected 1st for Ingram? But I want an extension in place. And I want a plan to sign Lonzo because we mean business.

So I'm taking Ingram plus Lonzo over Zion.

And Lonzo played alongside Ingram in New Orleans. Their games work together.

there was a Sidery report that we reached out for Zion, but I'm about as likely to believe him as I am one of you

I'd love to get Zion but I'm probably not willing to pay the very high asking price for another glass man.

I'm out on the price in the OP, and the Pels price is likely higher.

Anyway, take it with a grain of salt since Sidery posted it but he usually steals info from others so it could actually be true

I literally just saw that same exact tweet on my IG feed for Hornets rumors.

It's literally no different than the bleacher report rumors. No substance just clicks and views rumors.
