Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
Veto this trade and fire Nico Harrison. He's a Lakers double-agent. Literally nobody within the organization or the city of Dallas wanted this. Not the Fans, not the Head Coach, not the assistants, not the training staff, not the people within the Front Office outside of Nico, not the former majority owner... no one.
He's acting upon the best and long-term interests of another organization (one whose GM he just so happens to be great friends with, dating back to when Morrison was Kobe's Marketing Manager at Nike -- what a coincidence!), his former employer Nike, and the NBA and its Commissioner, rather than the interests of the organization that he has been hired to represent.
And now we know that the new Adelson/Dumont Ownership Group appears to be working on behalf of their own vested interests with their beloved new Casino & Resort that they're trying to get built in Texas by changing Texas State Gambling Laws -- a project so financially paramount to them that they're reportedly willing to relocate the team to a city where this Casino & Resort can be legally built (hello Las Vegas) if they don't get their way -- and not the basketball team itself nor its passionate fan base. This all seems so nefarious behind closed doors. Really nasty stuff here.

you'd think it'd be embarrassing for both parties to make this public. like how tf you trade Luka behind your coaches back.. shockingly stupid behavior to absolutely ruin everyones morale within a franchise lmao
well, my bad.. hadn't seen the video of this tool bouncing out after couple of questions and walking straight into the camera as well.
now I am 100% willing to believe he got paid under the table to make this happen with future considerations in mind cause he clearly has 0 confidence behind the move despite the pre-written media snippets.
the guy talks with 0 confidence or charisma who gave him the damn job because it looks like his intelligence is lacking too.

Surround them with defenders, rebounders, and shooters and it's a recipe for success. They're going to be nasty IMO.
If they get a player like Poeltl, it's a wrap.
Not to mention LeBron loves Luka (and vice versa of course LeBron being his idol) and he is one of the most unselfish all time greats around.
Not sure how this relationship will work out. LBJ is definitely a superstar willing to take a back seat when necessary, which is good for their potential chemistry, but will LeBron willingly finish out his career as the Robin to Luka's Batman?
For the remainder of LBJ's time in the NBA, he will be second fiddle on his team. AD is a superstar, and you could make an argument that he is better than current LBJ, but nobody ever said the Lakers were AD's team.
Lebron is 40 with 1 foot out of the league already.
Hes 15 years older than luka with much more accomplished and nothing to prove.

Thats the risk but Lakers will be able to offer him more, not Super Max but still more than any other team.
Then LA needs to make some big moves. Bc I'm sure Luka has a bad taste in his mouth. If he isn't gonna get his $ then it might just make sense to jump to Denver and dominate with his buddy and win 3 rings in a row.
This is a really good point. There is nothing preventing Luka from leaving LA when his current deal is up. The Lakers can offer more, but other teams can get pretty close and maybe Luka wants to pick his own team, in this one-time opportunity that so many other superstars wished they had early in their career. If Luka really wants to play with Jokic, what is going to stop him now?
Maybe there is more risk for the Lakers than first thought. Luka already indicated that loyalty means nothing anymore.
lol
Look at this Clippers fan, hoping and praying.

Luka is so good he got the Mavericks out of the lottery in his second season. He shortened their rebuilding time and gave them less to work with. Combine that with the questionable player decisions they've made, and Luke's tenure in Dallas has been kind of tragic.

Windhorst and MacMahon are 2 ESPN idiots who had an agenda against Luka for a long time. Remember, both Kidd and Luka had verbal altercations with MacMahon in the past because of his drama queen reports.
who cares? even if all of it was true, all it confirms is that the mavs organization is trash. you've drafted the guy at 18 years old. if he has some problems at 25, that's on you. and if the mavs want "out of the luka business", that's just them signaling to all of the nba that they are inept, completely incompetent, just abject failures

Except this is EXACTLY what the new owners wanted!
Thats why Cuban could not veto it as a minority owner.

I cannot imagine the owners were not aware of this trade. They were clearly on board with this trade. This just goes to show you how incompetent the GM and owners are.
Agree 100% with the rest of your post though.

Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
Athletic just put up the article
Now that the trade is official, answers are emerging. Dončić is ecstatic about joining the Lakers, and all early signs point to a long-term future with the team, a league source said.
The Lakers could now use a big man, someone to protect the paint, but not many centers whose names are prevalent on the market appeal to them, league sources said. And just as they wouldn't part with the 2031 first-rounder for Dončić, they have no plans to give their best remaining draft asset away for a patch-up role player

You’re a paid LeBron shill. I’ve learned my lesson to never engage in a debate with you, or your many other accounts, because you have no problem with lying if you think it’ll help you win the argument
1. No I’m not.
2. Answer the question. Why would Dallas want to help LeBron?
Sorry my dude, you kinda are. Not literally a paid shill but ya. Got nothing against you personally but you're at a severely close level when it comes to Bron as Eyeatoma and Hussein are to Embiid. EDIT: Or like that NBA4Lyfe guy with Harden.

Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
When Cuban sold the majority of the team, there were these weird stories that he would still be in charge of the basketball operations. I think we all thought that was bs, because why would a billionaire buy a very expensive toy and then let the former owner play with it.
Have Cuban or the new owner ever clarified that? That is was all bs? If not, shouldn't we also be mad at Cuban? If they want us to believe that bs story, Cuban is still in charge and therefore responsible for this trade. Has Cuban said anything since the trade went down? Is he okay with this?

We already have Parsons saying he texted Cuban and Cuban didn't understand it.
