Re: 2025 NFL Draft
Does anyone know why Jack Sawyer is being mocked draft over JT Tuimoloau?
Every OSU game I watch JT stands out while Sawyer gets sucked in by blockers and often looks lost.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
Trading up 5-6 picks from pick pick #25 in the draft usually cost a third and maybe a late round pick. If we do that last year moving from 25 to 19 Packers have their choice of Jared Verse, Brian Thomas Jr. and Quinyon Mitchell. These guys were possibly the #1 pass rusher, #1 CB, and top 3 WR in the draft. Instead we stayed at our pick and took an offensive lineman who sucked his first year, was oft-injured and we are hoping he is good in 1-3 years.
If players start falling that shouldn't, move up a few spots and stop hoping someone falls into your lap.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
So if we don't trade for a top pass rusher I am assuming Abdul Carter is out.
I wonder where Jalon Walker goes. The fact that he can play ILB and edge is appealing. Great in coverage. Looks like Quay just higher IQ.
Besides that you are looking at Mike Green, Shemar Stewart, Scourton, Pearce Jr., Mykel Williams, and James Pearce as potential first rounders. I like Shemar Stewart's measurables for sure but I never saw it translate much in games.
Abdul Carter should be a top 5 pick so he is out.
Mykiel Williams looks overrated to me and is supposed to go top 15. I never see many splash plays from him and always thought Walker stood out more in that defense, although Williams was better versus the run and just overpowering his blockers.
Shemar Stewart seems like a Gary, LVN type. I would rather avoid him if possible. We don't need another project who might pan out in 2-3 years.
Pearce Jr. reminds of Dee Ford. Would not hate him as the pick either.

“Sucked”? Morgan was set to take the starting right guard spot from Rhyan. Or at worst share snaps with him before all the injuries. Rhyan wasn’t terrible or sucked last year so… not sure why Morgan “sucked” then.
Sure, hindsight is 20/20 and those other players would be great. But games are won in the trenches. Still not upset Gutey tried to reinforce the O-line there either. And I loved Mitchell pre-draft last year.

I dislike the hindsight is 20/20 debate. If you go back and look at the draft thread from last year I was practically begging this team to trade up for for Latu, Bowers, Verse, or Thomas Jr. As soon as Verse and Thomas Jr. fell and were 6 spots above us it made perfect sense. Of course it takes a team willing to trade down but you give up a 3rd and a 5th along with pick #25 to move up to get one of Jared Verse, Brian Thomas Jr. and Quinyon Mitchell while receiving a future 6th and this team looks so much better. It's over now, just saying if a player or two falls and we are a few picks away from them stop waiting and go get them.
Good call on Mitchell.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
PFF's mock:
Wouldn't hate it.
23. Green Bay Packers: Nic Scourton, Texas A&M
Although the Packers finished top-five in sacks during the regular season, they led the NFL in unblocked sacks, raising concerns about the sustainability of their pass rush. Among Green Bay’s four edge rushers with 150 or more pass-rush snaps in 2024, only Rashan Gary posted a double-digit pass-rush win rate.
That wouldn’t be an issue for Nic Scourton, who has exceeded a 19.1% win rate in each of the past two seasons. The former Aggie and Boilermaker brings versatility, capable of rushing with his hand up or down from either side, giving the Packers defense a much-needed disruptive presence off the edge.
Wouldn't hate it.

Just said the same thing. Very Dee Ford like, drops back into coverage and can get to the QB. He appears faster than his scouting report because he does a good job of timing the snap.

Any of the dline prospects fit the bill? Nolan seems like he's going to atleast be a really good pass rusher.

I think Nolan's being mocked about 20 spots too low. #2 defensive tackle, top eight(ish) overall in the draft for me. If he works out as well as expected I'm guessing he's long gone by 23.

Darius Alexander out of Toledo and Omar Norman-Lott out of Tennessee.

Athletic mock:
23. Green Bay Packers: Mykel Williams, Edge, Georgia
54. Green Bay Packers: Maxwell Hairston, CB, Kentucky
87. Green Bay Packers: JJ Pegues, DT, Ole Miss
Couldn't complain with this one.

Re: 2025 NFL Draft
2 weeks until the combine. I always look forward to that because the combine changes up things so much. It always feels to me mocks before the combine are never accurate.
Coach Drew: "Milwaukee has always been a team that I have been intrigued by. When we played them, they were a tough team for us to play. Although we did beat them all four times"

2. Trey Amos (CB)
3. Ozzy Trapilo (OT)

4. Dylan Fairchild (OG)
5. Barret Carter (LB)

I tried that one, it's weird Tyler Warren is available in the first, Jalon Walker (also Malachi Starks was still there) in the second, Xavier Watts in the third, Quinshon Judkins in the fourth, TreVeyon Henderson in the fifth. I didn't want to draft two RBs, but that's a no brainer. Get those two and team them up with Jacobs, this running back group would be insane. Offense has three new play makers and the defense gets two hybrid players.

Yeah they have a few setting you can play with. I think the randomness is a bit too much at times but you can tune it up or down.
