It is Luka to the Lakers. KD to the Warriors happened in the midst of free agency and under the careful eye of a well-publicized media frenzy. Luka destroyed the rizz of NBA media... and it also increases the legitimacy of criticisms against what are (for a lack of better terminology lol) the NBA's elite. People will hate owners more than ever, they'll hate big market teams more than ever, and they'll feel even less invested in the league's storylines since tethers to an era where players actually had a tie to their team are just being unraveled one-by-one. People will always join superteams... the Warriors are (in the perspective of history) just another superteam. Seeing a market completely obliterate its fanbase for unfathomable reasons? That's almost wholly unprecedented. This is the ultimate unraveling of the fan experience.

Basketball wise, it's KD move by far.

League was cooked for the foreseeable future the moment he signed, everybody else was playing for 2nd place.

That's without saying he was a top 3 player signing with the 73-9 team that just beat him in the WCF after being down 3-1, which was unprecedented in his own way and probably won't happen again.

Luka's move was more shocking because nobody saw it coming a mile away, and also he's going to the Lakers, but that doesn't make it more impactful or bigger.

KD move was a complete powershifter, he destroyed the NBA.

People are going to vote on most shocking, despite what OP says. Truth is, we all knew the Warriors were about to win and win. Potentially 3 peated if it weren't for injuries. Luka going to the Lakers does not guarantee a chip and he didn't guarantee a chip with the Mavs either. KD went to a great team with 2 of the greatest shooters ever and 2 being all-defensive level players. Luka didn't do that.

Yeah agree with most. KD to GS was bigger because GS were already contenders and they could have 3-peated if not for injuries but at least KD was a FA and could go where he wanted.

Luka was gifted to a treadmill team via the most lopsided trade in NBA history.
