That bad Cavs team that lost to the Celtics in the 2nd round (with both Mitchell and Allen out). LBJ even came to one of the games as the Lakers season was already over.

And…? He’s literally right now moving the needle for a contender. I don’t know what the argument is that despite that he’s somehow not a needle mover on a contender

Yeah both sides of this are weird. Allen is a good player playing a key role on a very very good team. And yes you can be a good player on bad teams. Luka and AD just got traded for each other as high impact players and both have played on teams recently that weren't in the playoffs.

And Lebron is still a very good player who you would want in the playoffs. No he isn't 2017 Lebron any longer. But Cleveland no longer needs him to come in and be everything for the team. And I firmly believe Lebron would come in and play very much a team game.

I suspect we are going to see him let Luka be the main guy on offense without a single issue. And I think he'd do the same joining Cleveland.

It can't happen because of the money, but we don't need to trash really good players to say why this deal just isn't a fit.

If LBJ wants to opt out this summer and join the Cavs in a supportive role off the bench, I'm sure the he'll be welcomed with open arms. That's completely different than the Cavs trading for him while he's making $50M per. The latter simply isn't going to happen.

Saying he a starting center a good team doesn’t mean much. He was the same player in the bad Cavs teams.

He a good role player playing on a Good team. He the 4th most important cav.

The Cavs have had a winning record for every full season Allen's been on the roster. His first full season, he made the all star game. He's the most efficient offensive player on roster. He's a great rim protector. All the advanced data indicates we're better with him.

You're just being salty.

The only bad team year Allen was with the Cavs for was his 1st (partial) year, where he arrived there at the deadline. I mean, do you judge Lebron's time in LA by their 18/19 or 21/22 seasons, or by the 19/20 season? Or, more sensibly, the duration?

I mean LeBron been the top player on his team during his time in LA. Does same apply for for Allen? Bit of apples and oranges comparison.

And of course LeBron is judged by his seasons in LAL.

Salty about regular season success is a good laugh lol

I’m jealous of the nuggets and Celtics success. Cavs don’t even cross my mind.

If me saying Allen the Cavs 4th most important player makes me salty then i guess im salty.

He's arguably the 4th most important player behind Garland, Mitchell, and Mobley, but if the Cavs were to trade him, they'd likely have to trade one of Garland or Mitchell as well.

I remember when LeBron was playing ~40mpg on lottery teams.
Well at least we're not Detroit!

If the Cavs we're having the season they had last year I could see it. But considering the current season there is no way you can justify breaking up the big 4 to get a 40yo guy. Has the #1 record team in the NBA ever shipped out a core player mis-season before? Anyway, maybe if the team disappoints in the postseason this can be revisited.
