Gambo mentioned it too

Gambo also mentioned early they might make a move that helps them "short term and in the future"

I just don't see how trading 3 FRPs for Butler helps your future. But trading Durant could help this year and the future

It would be due diligence to listen but to have it reported that we're listening and KD has been notified, I feel like this is a different level to random GM calling about KD and us hanging up.

Well at least Ishbia isn't gloating about a coffee date

It makes sense to listen and even more sense to trade Durant

Retool? I can see that. I can see us trading KD and others and then looking to add other players around Booker. I don't expect he'll be looking for a rebuild and I think a lot of you are going to be upset if that's what you are looking for.

Yeah, I agree. I think most people are semi checked out but will probably be even more checked out as we add guys like Butler and get older with a bigger payroll with none of our own picks for 7 years and just "going for it" meaning we are basically probably fighting for a play in spot that we can hopefully win to get one series and 4 more games.

Didn’t Jones trade a 1st round pick for Craig at one point? Jones is such a horrible talent evaluator.

He traded the guy we had just drafted at 10th in the draft over Haliburton for him.

Not extending the rookie offer was so stupid and lowered Stix value also because whichever team traded for him would not have been able to match a bigger offer when his rookie deal expired.

It worked out for Indy but had another team wanted to sign Stix to a bigger offer Indy would not have been able to match similar to the Brunson to NY debacle.

Kuminga, Wiggins and draft picks (plus filler) for Durant - could be a solid return - would that be enough to make Booker happy to rebuild or would he want to move on. Personally I would still want to move him to Houston

As for why he would rebuild - look at the West. Four teams have better futures than the Suns and they are all pretty young: OKC, Spurs, Rockets and Grizzlies

Lakers with Luka and cap space are a massive wild card. Once Bron is done, they'll sign someone big. So I'd put them ahead of us as well.

Good call - for sure would put them ahead of the Suns right now with Luka

and even short term - like the rest of this year - even if the Suns get Butler - what teams are conceivable better --

OKC - Presti has enough to make a move - probably doesn't need too unless he wants KD35 back
Memphis - they probably make a move
Houston
Denver
Dallas - if AD is healthy the rest of the way and they probably make a move
Spurs adding Fox - they are only three games back right now
Kings - see how Levine fits in instead of Fox
Clippers - made that trade last week to get under the apron to make a trade
Lakers -- with Luka and James and making a move for a big -- probably put them right there with the Suns

I just don't see a realistic path with Butler to even the WCF with how the West has changed in four days. I didn't think it before but now, for sure.

You also have Minnesota with Edwards, and the Pelicans have a lot of talent if they are healthy. They just are super banged up like Memphis was last year. Of course some depends on Zion but if they get something for Ingram and maybe something for Zion. They still have Murray, McCollum, Herb Jones, Trey Murphy and Missi in addition to Zion and Ingram. Still probably have some AD picks coming too. We're better than Utah though..we've won a number of close battles with them. And I think we are better than Portland. Maybe tonight will tell us more and last game was a fluke.

We are in a somewhat similar boat to the Clips, though they have a great coach and a top defense so are probably tougher despite us beating them recently. They have been one of the hottest teams until then.

But they are old and still have some outgoing picks the next couple years.

I actually am one who would do

Wiggins, Kuminga, Looney, GP3 for KD

Then why not, lets go full rebuild.

Booker for Brooks, Thompson, Adams, Eason, and our 1st back.

Run it with some crazy depth lol

Tyus Jones, Monte Morris
Kuminga / Allen
Wiggins / Brooks
Thompson / Dunn
Adams / Looney / Richards

Per Chris Mannix via Bluesky

The Warriors are indeed serious about reuniting with Kevin Durant, sources told SI. And with efforts to acquire Jimmy Butler stalled rival execs believe the Suns are strongly considering Durant deals before the deadline.

Wiggins, Kuminga, Looney, and like 2 first rounders and I would do it. That makes us better, especially if we can get Beal for Butler too

Tyus Jones / Morris
Booker / Allen
Butler / Kuminga
Wiggins / Dunn
Looney / Richards

That adds youth, athleticism, and depth.

Maybe a Nurkic for something to add something else.

or dont even do the Butler and Keep Beel and run it

Tyus Jones / Morris
Booker / Beal
Kuminga / Allen
Wiggins / Dunn
Looney / Richards

I mean...if that's true how is Houston not the 1st option? We get our picks back and some other pieces.

Would Houston value KD over Book, who is more in line with their timeline though? They might throw us our picks back for KD, but I don't think any of their seriously good young players.

Now that Bluesky is blowing up and starting to gain a lot of popularity, hopefully realgm will soon let me post the tweet from Bluesky.

Yeah they want Booker for our picks and presumably some of their guys who arent Amen and Sengun.

Also great news about Durant! even if he's not dealt now we might see it in the offseason. Beal should get his jersey retired for this.

I guess that depends on Booker and if we're keeping him and if he wants to stay. I'd think he'd want out too if we move KD but if he's staying then we tell Houston "it is what it is. Do you want KD or not?"

I think they'd do all of our picks back, Jabari, Reed Sheppard and filler (probably Dillon Brooks).

We should also make them take Nurk. Can give us back Adams expiring

Return to Phoenix Suns
