He doesn't have much of a say anymore with the organization

"Under the unusual sale arrangement, Cuban maintains a 27% ownership stake in the Mavs and remains in control of basketball operations."

That's what google tells me. He owns 27% of the team. He was consulted. He knew it was happening.

Everyone's playing stupid and Nico's the fall guy, cause that's his job.

Guess what? Every other major owner in the NBA knew. Otherwise, you'd have ownership from other teams come out and accuse the Mavs and Lakers of collusion for the Lakers benefit.

This trade was constructed at an owners meeting with everyone's buy in.

They own the league. We don't. They're not going to tell you the truth. Just like everything else in this world.

2) Luka is a secret alcoholic or whatever

and it was about basketball reasons, I think this was sort of a tilt situation, to use the poker term for getting too mad after a loss.

The Mavs couldn't hit a 3 against Boston and lost, and maybe they do win a rock fight in that finals with AD instead of Luka and the O still producing at a similar poor (106 ORTG) pace.

But do they win 3 West series with AD instead of Luka? That part is very, very difficult to see. They shot 39% on 3s when they beat OKC and Minnesota back to back. Can't do that with AD at the 4, or even at the 5 and no Luka to spoonfeed 3s to PJ Washington, DJJ and Green and of course hitting a ton himself.

Maybe they just took the wins for granted and dwelled on the loss? Many such cases.

Nah, if they got mad and wanted to take it out on someone, they go after Kyrie Irving because dude was so rocked and neutered in that Finals series against Celtics because of what he'd done in the past.

Bingo. If he made this move of his own volition, he'd be fired already. The Mavericks brand has been completely destroyed over the past 48 hours and will never recover. That alone warrants termination.

After all the dust has settled, I’m left with only one question.

I wonder if Nico and Rob are still friends.

To give Nico Harrison his due, his gamble on Kyrie Irving is paying off, as is his acquisition of Daniel Gafford & P.J Washington, so I'm going to give him some leeway - But I did see his presser after the trade and he was rather unserious and his attempt at humour fell flat. I'd say he's on a short leash. I would assume ownership had to sign off on the trade and so far they have gone unscathed.

His gamble on Kyrie paid off because Kyrie loved playing with a guy like Luka to be honest.

Imagine, Kyrie, who couldn't handle playing with LBJ, Durant, got jealous of the Celtics young core, and finally a guy like Luka is able to mesh with him.

And are the Mavs really going to ride with Kyrie who is 32 years old, is a known issue on the locker room, a poor leader, has his own injury issues, and isn't a very good defender?

Why? Just Why? Why has everything turn into a negative. Why? Can we sometimes at least simply accept the answers they are given.
If Dallas was right, it will come out eventually any way. Damn, i am tired of all the negative s***.

I would quite literally let Luka smoke crack in the lockerroom if he was putting up the numbers he has and still signed him to a supermax

Is this something a basketball executive would want on their resume for longevity in the league? No ones gonna hire him.

If you were in his shoes you would say no or resign.

Kyrie is 33 in a month. AD is 32 in a month.

I feel a high paying 'league office' job, for as long as he wants it, may be in his future if and when things don't workout with the Mavericks.

The Adelsons are filthy. They work hard to change public opinion with their influence. They bought Trump, they fund ethnic cleansing in Palestine, and now they will look to smear Doncic at any opportunity just to look good.

The product was already trash, and when you have **** owners like these where they are guaranteed stars at every cycle, its time to boycott the product.
