Giannis at the 5 would probably look more closer to Jokic at the 5 defensively than it would Anthony Davis. It will work in spurts when he locks in but it would take personnel changes.

You will need a P.J. Washington/John Collins type. Yes, Advija and Eason would be at the top of the profile list who are not stars but there is likely zero way to get either one of them.

Avdija is way beyond Eason. Eason has not proved himself

I’ve been an advocate for him at the 5, but it has to be with a 4/5 defensive guy to pair with. I’ll be honest the way he has played the five, which Doc has been doing more of without Bobby, hasn’t been great. He almost needs to be paired with a guy to do the little things

Avdija would be an excellent Middleton replacement but I don’t see us having the assets to get him unless we are blowing things up

were already too small. hes ideal as a motivated help defender.

practically hes ok as an occasional look at the 5 im with that.....but hes horrible in the drop there.....and if we went full switch 100% of the time hed literally be attacked.

Giannis at the 5 would be pretty damn good if we had a single big, athletic forward that was good defensively and put even a modicum of effort on the boards. Like a PJ Washington type.

You good, you love the team, no doubt, but humble yourselves. You hated Bobby, the other glazes Khris like he is Kobe ... Just clear your mind a bit, I am talking about myself now and I am hiring a wise phrase the "bleach reporter" from Amara's logic podcast. That dude although young he has it all in one phrase. "I prefer winning over loyalty". Bucks are stuck in nostalgia mode too much. If Doc keeps playing Brook after the deadline... I quit watching Bucks regular season. I will tune in to the playoffs to watch our 1st -2nd round exit.
The league is rigged and staged so my advice to you all is to take care of yourself off sports, in real life. Don't get emotionally to much attached with the team right now. 2021 was awesome ... Thank you. We were hungry back then... Now we are old , slow and all those hungry players are now fathers with kids and loaded with tens-hundreds of millions to spend.

Imagine those that call bobby old and slow and not able to handle the defensive assignments needed for this team are considered casuals by people like yourself, only for you to state later in your manifesto that we are indeed "old and slow."

Casuals always are quick to call others casuals when they don't understand what they're talking about.

Yes, everyone who hated Bobby and wanted him GOOONE cause he is a "black hole" on offense and the reason our defense collapses.... How come we are on loosing streak ... some mediocre teams drops near 140 points on us ? How about efing rebounds ... Nobody except Giannis and Bobby have a noise for the ball to go get it. Casuals like to throw anyone under the bus to feel better and the easiest "target" was Bobby. Brook is THE major problem we have for 5 years, including the ring year .. Portis on 12 M producing double doubles is one of the best contracts in the league. So appreciate him for taking a paycut to stay with the Bucks .... To tolerate all those silly @$$ efing clowns of coiaches we have the last 5 years ... when he clearly is better than Brook on all levels and he is still a 6th man while the Disney giant get 23M per year for 5 points and 3 rebounds per 36 minutes while all teams attack him and the defense collapses. Yes everyone not noticing this is a casual. Its ok I don't hate the casuals, not everyone can be a guru on basketball, there are other things more important in life, BUT the Portis hate went out of control. He was treated like a scapegoat and I will always defend when I see hitting on 12M and skipping on Khris and Brook and Pat and Doc and Gianns FTs + TOs etc...

Love you Bobby I hope you get back soon and I wish him the best. He is the only Bucks Champion who hasn't got big money ... He will get it, here or probably elsewhere well deserved.

TBH I think as fans we just kind of underrate how tough it would be to have a seven foot, 260-270 lb dude elbowing us 82 nights a year. Everyone understands that having a unicorn like Giannis at the five could be awesome, but he's the one out there taking a beating and probably appreciates getting the smaller assignment.

It would likely take Lillard going to Sac or Houston for numerous picks to over pay in a Mikal Bridges type deal.

it would be different if we had enough offense so that Giannis could focus more on defense and just pick his spots on offense. but we rely on him completely every single night.

Who is the mid 20s version of Segre Ibaka? That’s the player we need to pair with Giannis. The idea of Jonathan Isaac feels about right. Then you play two 4/5 guys and surround with snipers.

I think most believed his USG would go down with Dame on board, but it's still high as hell. His 36% rate is the third highest of his career, and that's with what I think most would consider a really good offensive surrounding cast.

I hate the Giannis center minutes. But, I hate the Brook center minutes without Giannis even more. It’s quite the conundrum.

I wouldn’t hate a series of blow it up trades and a phantom Giannis injury to let him actually get healthy. Guys like Rollins and Johnson need nba minutes to develop. Not playing against g league scrubs.

Minny just lost to Sacramento, and they’ve been mostly middling like us. They lack creation, and I wonder if they have any monetary regrets with Jaden.

How about something like Khris + ‘31 1st for Jaden and Naw expanded into the 3-team trade?

That would completely rebuild our perimeter defense with two all-nba caliber defenders.

Minny gets a better perimeter creator, and a 1st to help shift their roster.

If Giannis can't handle someone the weight of Luka, we are in trouble.

Quite the exercise getting anything to work with Minny. They are even further into the depths of 2nd apron hell than we are.
