"That's crazy. They traded probably the best scorer in the NBA at 25. And he didn't even know about it, so... There's a lot more digging someone needs to do as to why he got traded cause you don't just trade him at 25. He just went to the Finals... I feel bad for Luka man... That sucks."

Ant Edwards calling it the craziest trade ever
. Even the players know how insanely lopsided this deal was.

People who defending this trade are either biased Lakers fans or should not talk about basketball anymore

Best simile so far: The Mavs trading Luka for AD is like the 1972 Jackson 5 trading Michael Jackson for 1989 Queen’s Freddy Mercury

Cuban's old analytics guy. He had a couple of tweets on the trade.

Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
So you guys actually believe Lebron didn’t know anything about this trade? The guy is flat out lying. I have known the NBA is rigged for a long time. The average fans are sheep that just follow for entertainment and succumb to groupthink. This trade is blatant proof of who and what is in control of the content. It trickles all the way down to the game itself.

You also have half of a season to learn Ad's spots, build chemistry and climb out of your current hole. Barring a legendary run next year, don't see how this turns out decent for the mavs.

Look at Nico! It's all him! Definitely don't pay attention to the ownership group obsessed with building a Casino in the arena or moving the team to Vegas.
Also, the league doesn't benefit at all from moving Luka to the Lakers while trying to launch a league in Europe.
This trade should be waking everyone up to the lies coming out of your televisions and reporters mouths.

This keeps getting better and better, Luka closing on a house in Dallas couple of weeks prior, Nico being too big of a bitch to tell Luka he's getting traded and losing additional 1st as a result.
Every player in NBA should have no trade clause, or at least playesr on the max deal to safeguard themselves from corrupt morons like Nico.

In most industries, this is seen as corruption. Imagine if the mayor of your town awards one of his boys a fat contract to build the local mall instead of going through an open and transparent tender process.

How about Luka ditch the lakers next year, becomes a free agent, create a bidding war in the league, just **** them who want to manipulate him
Hi Clutchie, I love you...

Ok so I’m not saying it’s a bad trade - cause I think the trade is crazy… and I wouldn’t trade Luka… except for SGA, Jokic, Tatum or Giannis… cause Luka that good- I would need one of the other big 5 back…
but why should Nico care if Luka brought a house IF Luka showing up out of shape and drinking like a fish and not listening to the team and refusing to be disciplined? People acting like the owners didn’t sign off on destroying their future- something CRAZY has to be going on with Luka… cause there is no way you trade one of the 5 best players in the world for being over weight
We gotta start thinking something is up with Luka - rick car actually quit- KP pretty much wanted out- Dinwiddie alluded to something last year on Gil’s pod cast- Windhorst called Luka out during the finals - the taking the beer away on live tv… are some weird red flags -
But at the same time Kyrie LOVES Luka and kyrie isn’t the type of guy to co-sign on a bad guy - as weird as kyrie is, he doesn’t really mess with degenerates
All of this is just weird - but the truth has to come out - but I do not think the owners let them move Luka if Luka isn’t considered a problem

Absolutely insane. Harrison bowed down to pelinka because they are friends. This should make all other GMs not want to deal with Pelinka any longer.

Yall still actually believe Nico didn’t get sign off from the owner - and that the lakers wouldn’t give the Mavs more and the other team said NO to Luka - and y’all not asking if something up with Luka? Again, I wouldn’t do the trade, but something tells me there has to be something crazy going on and it’s not gonna be collusion.

Re: Luka AD trade thread Part II
The post game beer is such an non-issue, he's not alcoholic for enjoying a cold one after instensive physical activity - that's how it's done in Europe and I'm saying that as total water drinker here.
There might be something going on with Luka, might be not, but i'm not inclined to lend my ear to BS spewed by maverics media grasping for straws to justify this dumbass trade now.
Just to give couple examples of what they've done lately:
1. "We've actually approached one other team with Luka trade" Zach Lowe talked to execs from other teams to fact check it and all of them denied being contacted.
2. "Luka wanted to leave the franchise in free agency!" Yup - and that's why he bought a house for 15m couple of weeks ago.
At this point I belive that other claims are total BS too and Luka smear campaign is sad to watch.

This isn’t about Luka. This is simply corruption. Niko is literally a Lebron/Laker con man that was a sleeper cell and activated. The fact that the Lakers only gave one pick says it all. Anything to maximize their talent load around LeBron is what happened here. The free throw disparity is proof that the league is operating all the way to the ground level. I mean even Reaves gets a superstar whistle.

If someone tells me that it was also Pelinka's idea to keep it quiet too.

How is this Rob's fault every gm would do this.
