The future of LeBron James with the Los Angeles Lakers came into question following the team's trade for Luka Doncic, but all sides appear to want him to remain with the franchise. James could even be a mentor for Doncic, particularly in light of concerns the Dallas Mavericks had on his diet and conditioning.
"There's not going to a move for LeBron James out of Los Angeles right now as far as everyone is concerned," said Shams Charania. "The relationship between him and Luka Doncic is something I'm definitely going to keep an eye on. The Lakers want LeBron James to be a mentor of sorts. Someone who can help Luka Doncic continue to develop. Develop the right habits. Develop everything on and off the court. I think we're going to see that play out over the coming weeks, days, years."
James has been widely expected to play another one to two seasons.
