Like who? (you can't say Jimmy Butler)

I mean, he would be at the top of my list..

But im not sure how im supposed to know who else is available. Time will reveal all.

Hard disagree.

I don’t think 35 year old, primadonna, Jimmy Butler is moving the needle much this year. This roster has a lot of flaws beyond just getting rid of Middleton and calling it a day.

I honestly can’t understand how anyone can watch this team and think we’re a trade away from winning a title. Respectfully, that’s pure delusion, in my opinion.

I thought they had to trade Brook this offseason because his lack of mobility kills our team defense in numerous ways. We simply didn't have enough youth/athleticism/foot speed to string together enough quality defensive possessions to go streaking on the other end. The front office and Giannis were ok with punting on defense and just trying to be the first to 120 points. Its predictably not working. I've long been of the mind to give Giannis what he wants. He's done so much for this city. But its time to say goodbye to some friends. The Jrue trade came out of nowhere. The Dame one did too. Hopefully there is a deadline surprise to shake up this roster.

Zero chance I do Midds for Kuzma straight up, much less attach draft assets. Hopefully Horst isn't that stupid, but he hasn't been good lately.

I’m not advocating for Kuzma at all but I have to say that I don’t find that contract bad at all, I’d actually consider it “team friendly”. He makes 23m and the contract depreciates over the next 3yrs down to 19m when he expires. I wouldn’t consider that all that bad in today’s NBA. And, again not advocating here but he actually checks out as more of a neutral defender by the numbers more so than “bad”. I think that’s a misconception he gets flamed for by the fans being stuck on a total **** show Wizards team. But you’re 100% accurate he can’t shoot now for whatever reason. Like Giannis % FT shooter now and a TS under 50%. Like, really bad.

Again, not advocating for Kuzma, but I would say in all likelihood, Kuzma's shooting numbers would improve here. For starters, he's shot over 70% from the FT line nearly every season of his career (shot 69% one season when he had fewer total attempts than he currently has this season). Even factoring in this season's atrocity and that one 69% season, he's still at 72% over the last 5 years...not particularly good but at that percentage, he's fine.

As for the jumpshots, once again he's having an outlier terrible season. The 3 point shooting isn't even the worst part; he's at 14% on mid-range jumpers over 16 feet so far this season. Having said that, it's almost impossible for any Wizards player to get a remotely decent shot off. The team has no offensive identity, very little shooting, very little creation abilities, etc. 48% of Kuzma's shot attempts this season have been tightly or very tightly contested. For comparison's sake, that number for some of our complimentary players:

AJ Green: 29%
Andre Jackson: 33%
Khris Middleton: 33%
Gary Trent: 20%

Having said all that, Kuzma is not a particularly good shooter, but he is a capable one, unlike guys like Andre Jackson for example who has literally not attempted a contested jump shot this season.

That's really the story with Kuzma. At his best, he has the size and athleticism to compete defensively and is just skilled enough all-around offensively to play off the ball around ball-dominant guys or create his own looks to varying levels of success if he's playing with a bench unit. He's just kind of okay in a lot of areas that could be helpful. But the Wizards ecosystem has been horrible for a long time and has reached new lows this season and on top of the fact that nobody has really found success for them this season (among the 10 players that have played close to 500 minutes, Valanciunas is the only one with a positive BPM lol), Kuzma is simply not capable of being the #1 or #2 guy offensively every night while also needing to be the wing defender.

TLDR: Trading for Kuzma (or really any Wizards player) is gambling on them looking better in an actual functional system. Kuzma is generally much better than he's been this season, and I'd say it's extremely likely that he'd look better with us than he's looked this season. Still might not be/probably isn't worth the risk of trading for him though.

Bovada randomly putting the Wizards and Bucks at the top for KD. Maybe a three-way deal where we end up with KD?

If you guys are so confident in telling us all that "no trade makes us a championship contender" then why are you not advocating for that Khris for Kuzma trade or the Khris/Bobby package for Beal and a truck load of assets? Any trade where we turn our old and about to be free agent player assets (Khris, Brook, Bobby) into any sort of younger player or minor draft capital should absolutely be the goal then.

Even if we get KD (and sell our last 1st rounder for 7-8 years in the process), KD will inevitably blow an achilles or something in the first round or at the end of the season.

I am fine with that. I’m fine with blowing it all up, too.

Jimi Thing is a good song if you don’t go to multiple shows each year and see it played 100 times.

I actually don't mind Kuzma, but I'm not sure I like him as the target for Khris.

Idk man trading Khris for Kuzma seems like an abject disaster to me even aside from draft assets we’d have to send out.

The Heat aren't in the driver's seat on Butler. You seem to think the Bucks are the only team under pressure. The Heat are under much more to get rid of him.

I find it highly unlikely that Butler isn't moved in the next two days.

Great song. But yeah, Dave needs to put it on the shelf for a couple years.

Bucks get: Kuzma, Valanciunas, Claxton (sign Rollins to full deal)
Nets get: Brook, Wright, Bucks 2031 1st
Wizards get: Middleton, Pat, MarJon, Bucks 2031 2nd

Dame/Rollins
Green/GTJ/AJAX
Kuzma/Prince
Giannis/Bobby
Claxton/Valanciunas

This adds a TON of front court depth and athleticism. Claxton and Kuzma contracts are actually very team friendly going forward...

Maybe they force you to take Nurkić in for Brook? I'd be fine with that :D

How does one interpret pleading with the league to help them get Jimmy to , I don't know maybe we should trade Durant.
