It's hard to go from a guy people wanted to actually start and who could give you 20 pts with good defense to freaking Caleb Martin. That's just another unreal trade to me.

But yeah, like you said, money wise agreed. I also said i expect Grimes to be moved but Mavs paid another draft pick to move a better player in my eyes and also statistically i would argue Grimes was much better. But hey.. this week anything is possible lol.

Grimes refused the extension, he was out day1 of this season... Unfortunately for us his trade value stay low because his inconsistency.

Caleb Martin is a dog with PO experience, perfect with Luka... Oh well..****.

This is why i don't understand wtf is Nico doing now. He should be looking for a creator not "tough" guys. Mavs had Naji, PJ, Grimes even Exum... Now he moves Grimes who was a very mobile guard/small wing for Martin?

Like i said, i understand from financial aspect but like Bob said, you're left with Klay and Naji on small wing spots. Naji wasn't that brilliant lately and he's been much worse on defense that i thought he would be. Actually moving Naji would (to me) make more sense.

Grimes was good this year...it's only cause he didn't sign the contract that he was traded...Mavs really are going for a defense only aproach

How can we talk defense when Grimes is a better man on man defender?

Then you have stat that i also posted above Best Defensive 3-Point Percentage (D3PT%). And grimes comes out on top by a large margin. Which further proves that Grimes was a perfect perimeter defender this team needed who could also go on huge scoring runs...

Caleb Martin shoots 60% around the rim (layups), Grimes 73%.

Grimes was very good getting to the rim.

This move was purely because Nico knows he doesn't want to pay Grimes and simply wanted the easy way out. And paid another 2nd round pick on top of it to get rid of a better player.
