This did not have to happen which is why it's the worst sports experience of my life and why the Dallas Mavericks are dead to me.
The Nike shoe salesman Nico Harrison was dumb as a hammer, ARROGANT, tone deaf, and a total crepe in the press conference.

Ownership made this call. I support getting A.Davis back in return. I think under the circumstances Nico had to keep this on the hush (without drawing any attention) and he called someone who he knew would keep quiet (Pelinka) and got the best possible player he could get under the directives of the ownership. It's no surprise that Lebron is getting old and the Lakers want a big name star.
Now, if I was advising ownership, would I advise them to trade Luka? Most likely not. Am I happy we got AD back considering the constraints I believe ownership put Nico under, yes. Do I think this was the best thing to happen to Luka's career? Yes. Even though it sucks for Mav fans - Luka actually wasnt taking his body seriously. Adversity needs to happen to propel you to be better.
Let's stop pretending this was Nico's decision. You don't trade the franchise player without ownership wanting to do it and telling you to do it.

Look, it's hard as can be for me to stop liking the Mavs like it's a switch that can be easily turned off and on. But Nico Harrison and the new owners dont care about the Mavs or the city of Dallas. They screwed this team behind any rationale. I understand the wonderful folks of Dallas not turning away; that's is your city, your home. But for me, I've only been to Dallas once, and it was joyous, btw. But I cant support a team run by Nico Harrison, and if I was critical of Luka always being out, I darn sure am not going to love AD who's out even more than Luka.
I have no other choice but to join the team that plays for the closest city where I live, and thats the Washington Wizards. I'm heartbroken doing it, Mavs were a huge part of my life. But this is not those Mavs. The Wizards have so many warts, but at ; least they are not taking the draft and building seriously, so I can, if nothing else, look forward to that.
I know I've had run ins and disagreements with many, but wish you all the best in your personal, professional, and family life. Be blessed all!

Nico and Rob are old time buddy, i don't say that it's a gift but he will be rewarded in some way in the coming years.
If the league doesn't investigate this case then they never will because it is clearly sports fraud.

BTW, i think nico did Luka a favor. Luka needed this wake up call. Sucks for Dallas fans but Luka needed this to happen. He wasn't taking his health and being a leader seriously.

You're too naive... Harrison&Pelinka are close friends, they have a 20years history of multi-million dollar business.
If Nico gifted the biggest marketing assets outside the NBA to Pelinka there is a reason... We still don't know their complete deal.
I don't try to find excuses for Harrison, he is just not stupid... He is a criminal. He screwed the fanbase.
He and Adelsons sold us for personal interests.
NBA should investigate the trade and the organization connections but Silver is not stupid too, they need Luka Doncic playing for the Lakers so it's ok. Go on.
