Plus why not add someone like Fox when Wemby is still so cheap. Take advantage of that cap space that won't be there later on.

Both Spurs & Kings played tonight & none of the players played. GFY whoever is responsible for that.

Bulls literally tried this exact same lineup. Demar/Lavine/Offensive center. It didn't go so well for them, what makes the kings think it's going to go better for them?

Not getting one of those Atlanta picks is pretty crazy. It's like when the Raptors were unable to get a single young prospect from the Pacers.

Sabonis is one of the best passing big man of all-time. He’s also an elite rebounder.

I’m sure Masai is losing a lot of sleep over not acquiring Jarace Walker.

Vuc is like a lesser version of Sabonis. He's not as good as Sabonis but they are similar players (with very similar weaknesses).
Pacers had a lot of young players, not just Jarace walker. Good thing we got Bruce Brown instead, who no one seems to want.

If anything the Fox and Luka trades make me realize the Siakam trade was perfectly fine. Welcome to trading stars in the new era of the CBA
What an absolute failure and disaster this franchise is, ran by one of the most incompetent front offices in the league.

But then you see what the Jazz got for Donovan + Gobert, or Nets for KD (or even Bridges), I think the Kings and Mavs just had terrible GMs who had no idea what they were doing.

They aren’t even comparable. Sabonis is significantly more efficient and an incredible passer. I have to seriously question if you have watched either of them play.

Notice how you said a lot of young players. You did not say a lot of good young players. Nesmith, Walker, Jackson and Nembhard are pretty underwhelming.

Pascal trade keeps looking better and better as time goes on. Very reasonable trade that was given a good grade by dozens of media outlets.

All those trades happened in the 2022/23 season before the new CBA.

Bridges is the exception, who also was so expensive because he came with an insanely cheap deal which again, was inflated in value due to the new CBA.

At some point it is not "they don't know what they're doing" (outside DAL), and more-so "this is just what the value is"

For a team like the Raps, where we are looking to acquire that missing franchise player, I hope you are right and I am in the wrong. But for now, I will have to see more sample size to make this a new trend.

For sure.

True superstars are still gonna take a haul. But I think those next tiers (Siakam, Fox, etc.) are not gonna command as much.

One would hope.

Also, it would be HILARIOUS if we re-acquired Siakam, not that this was your intimation. But still.

Fox is a mediocre 3, weak defensive PG who was constantly ragged on by Mike Brown (who they fired). They were able to win 3 games in a row after the firing, when Fox was out (two of them being blow-outs). SAC probably liked what they saw and found out that Mike Brown was right about Fox.

Lavine is putting up similar stats, but on much much better efficiency with elite 3 point shooting. But they get worse defensively. Lavine and Fox are ~2 years apart in age, but Lavine is injury prone. SAC gets two probably mid-low 1sts and 3 2nds on top of that.

So I don't think it's the worst trade in the world, but they definitely need a couple of elite defenders in the mix. Use those 1sts for Jimmy Butler or something.
