Miami just needs to continue to stall and let this thing get closer to the deadline

I don’t think it’s that far fetched. Butler for KD and however it else it takes to make the money lineup. KD and Booker isn’t working. This would put the ball back in Bookers hands, bring some defense, and it would open up Beal as well.

We can offer Butler and Jamie or Niko+ a first for KD

The Warriors can offer Wiggins, Schroeder, Kuminga, and GP3

The question I’m uncomfortable with is if Miami would trade Ware. Because I think you get KD without a doubt if you do that.

They won’t do it. Maybe if Butler was still involved they would. This is a new era for the Heat and i don’t think it involves anymore aging vets past 35 years old with big roles

WE'RE NOT GETTING KD!!!

People, please be somewhat realistic! Golden State has a lot more to offer than we do! This is just common sense...

MettaWorldPanda wrote:Standing steadfast that the Suns swapping out Butler for Durant makes absolutely zero sense. You can make a case sure but first and foremost the Suns are mired deep in the second apron. They can’t aggregate salaries. Butler and Durant make the same money so it limits the return for the Suns. Suns would be better off taking on Wiggins and multiple young player like Kuminga, Podz, and picks if this is the route they want to take.

I agree that’s the smart thing to do but there are two factors to consider here

1. The Suns front office has proven not to be very smart, and has prioritized names and star power. You have to wonder what type of weight Jimmy might carry to them.

2. You have to consider that KD is going to have a say in this in some capacity. Would he rather play on a Warriors team that’s been gutted of its depth with an old Draymond and Curry? Or go to a Heat team that is an elite scorer away from being a contender?

That Warriors team with KD isn’t doing anything no defense, and you’re relying on 3 players in their mid 30s to carry the load on that end of the floor

Yeah if I'm KD. I'm trying to go to Miami if it's us vs GSW. That team isn't coming out of the West.

That entire game all I could do was sit there and go KD wins us this game. 27-2 run or whatever not on his watch.

Get Trae Young and this team will sky rocket, he will make everyone better offensively and if we can find a way to bring in another defender that’ll be a massive boost as well

I'd rather rebuild. You can't win with a 3ft2 point guard. He's too much of a defensive liability to hide. And think about the teams you need to win the title. Boston, OKC, Cavs, Denver. Big teams that will hunt and prey for him. Heat can't be desperate to be relevant and go after any star i.e. Ingram, Trae. We need to go after a star that can actually be a cornerstone for a title team.

He still fits the “2026 plan” whatever tf that is and would be the best offensive player to play for us since peak LeBron/Wade. Our bigs would feast with Trae and Herro will be pushed off ball and also see a worse defensive assignment with the best defender guarding Trae. Like if there’s a way to land Trae and Wiggins or something out of this that team would be very damn good.

All the reporting on the Warriors has said that they won’t offer Kuminga for anybody. Butler is a bigger difference maker than anybody you mentioned, assuming he’s engaged.

I’m not saying it’ll happen or that it’s even likely, but it’s not wildly farfetched.

Not much worse if at all than Duncan/Herro and at least Trae is a top 10 offensive talent in the world.

To what end ? Get bounced out in 2nd round ? Is the goal championship contention or do Heat now just care about getting the playoff dollars. If its to contend, Trae isn't the answer.

Based on the refusal to maximize a team that went to the finals almost 3 times im personally not sure what the higher ups goal is. Who knows though, Traes led a team to the ECF and pushed the eventual champs to 6 games. Add him, find a star 3 along the way and with continued development from Bam Herro and Wade we can have something

Schroder, Wiggins, and GP2 would help this current team greatly

I like Trey and would welcome him, but realistically, a Young/ Herro backcourt on D would be chum in shark infested waters

I'd be all over this. I love Colby but I think he's gonna be a little too expensive.

But realistically how much worse than a Duncan/Herro backcourt if at all? While offensively it will be worlds better, not even a knock on Duncan but Trae is just that good offensively.

Jalen Johnson is out for the year, they’re trying to trade Capela, and it’s reported tonight the Cavs are going hard after Deandre Hunter. With us trading Jimmy this is a great chance to strike, his contract lines up to 2026 as well. Maybe get some of those warriors guys along with him in the Jimmy deal

That's the goal. Just make the playoffs for the unprotected pick.

Return to Miami Heat
