I admittedly have watched maybe 10 games this year but I seriously cannot put my finger on why we are so bad besides the turnovers and the sloppy ball movement. Is this really all on KD?
We have been much better with KD on the court. I mean if we do trade KD we better be getting more than just Jimmy. And not Draymond. I think he is underrated but he makes a ton.
But Draymond and Butler set a FAR better tone about winning for the rest of the team than KD. I just can't believe we've sacrificed our future and all these picks.
I don't think the Suns would ever trade Book as it stands now, but I imagine if we just shuffle a bunch of old guys and get another below avg C, Book will want out within about a year. Definitely by next summer. I think he really wants to stay in Phx too, but should he stay if we are old and awful with no avenues to get better a year from now? Is it fair to him?
We just better add some picks in all of this and not trade a bunch. I know we will likely trade one or two that we have, but we better at least finish with a positive or at worst, neutral, on our picks, unless they could get us a real difference maker.
The Athletic says Houston now considering KD and were not before. Now I don't think we get our picks back for him. But would any young players if we can't get Thompson or Sengun be worth it? Like if we could get Smith, Eason and Green or something? I don't know if those salaries work, but that wouldn't be bad if we can't get any of our picks. Much prefer that than getting older...even though Jimmy would probably make us better than they would right now, even though if we are subtracting KD, I don't see how adding Jimmy and removing KD makes us better. We have zero frontcourt.
